One student down before semester begins - in surprising news the body that was found in the river was one of the few that enrolled in my Modern English class for the coming year. I can't say he's much of a loss as a student, but terrible situation regardless ( Read more... )

re-reading sounds like a good idea, i have a few books that i haven't picked up in years and always mean to make the time to get back into them.

yes, that's a better way to put it for sure!

1984, a clockwork orange, breakfast of champions and naked lunch, although i actually never finished naked lunch. i just couldn't make any sense of it and i wonder if the second time around i might be able to (probably not haha)

A Clockwork Orange and Naked Lunch are both pretty hard going. If you're looking for some Burroughs that is a bit more accessible, Cities of the Red Night is a great read. Pirates and gunsmiths as opposed to talking typewriters and bugs, ha.

May I recommend Coupland to you? The Gum Thief, in particular.
