"I'll need to get yours first..." She said quietly, stepping back from the fire. It popped and crackled as the flames licked around a particularly large piece of wood.
"I'm... mine's going to come from here..." She lifted her arm and ran her finger along the bared spot of her upper arm. Ron's had to be coming from his leg. She guessed the same reason she was wearing a tank top was the reason he wore cut offs. "If something... I don't want to not be able to do yours."
Hermione crouched down and picked up the sharp knife. This blade was new and had never been used and would cut quickly and easily. She'd approached Michael about it and, as he'd told her, short of using a scalpal... this would get the job done.
And that was where she stopped. And stood there. A sort of panic raised its ugly head inside her stomach, the kind of panic where she didn't know how to make fire without a match. She looked at the cauldron and Ron standing just a few feet away and everything being ready and the darkest magic they were about to perform.... and she stopped.
"I can't..." She whispered, taking a step back. "No... I can't do this."
