Ron didn't say anything for the longest time as he contemplated what she'd said, tapping out an erratic beat on his stomach with blunt fingertips as he did so. Both of them had their reasons for and against executing such a plan. Both opinions were right, and thus making everything all the more difficult.

Turning his head just enough to look at Hermione's face, now showing the rigors of too much worry and not enough sleep, he solemnly asked, "You're not going to budge on this, are you?"

Of course she wasn't. That's what made her who she was - headstrong as an ox and just as bold. Two qualities that most assuredly got her Sorted into their House and not the more scholarly Ravenclaws; though his school days would have been filled with a lot less nagging about his study habits if she had.

He breathed out a heavy sigh of the defeated, finally giving in to her wishes and breaking the stalemate. One of them eventually had to do it, he supposed. And constant squabbling over the sticky subject was truly getting them nowhere fast.

"Alright. We can try." After a moment, he added, "But I'm doing it under protest."
