Situations like these were always tricky. Apprehension was weakness, petty anger more so, blankness suspicious in the extreme, and one hardly went to the Dark Lord smiling (unless of course one was an idiot). He'd schooled his features into his ever classic glare, which was neither out of place nor unexpected, though he did sneer at Bellatrix's glance at the two of them.

Without a glance to Lucius, he followed her, robes not fanning as they usually did, but he had no need to intimidate anyone within these walls.

Lucius made sure to enter the room last. It was a small thing, but small things could mean so much. Letting Bellatrix and Severus enter first made them seem more important, more in control - and therefore more at fault.

There was no good news to report. No one in connection with the attacks had been apprehended. Six people had been detained after the party as suspects. Of those, four had to be released. The remaining two were both low level ministry employees who were neither well-connected nor important enough to cause anyone concern. It was extremely unlikely that they were involved, but they would make excellent scapegoats if need be.

Voldemort watched from his chair, rubbing a hand down from Nagini's head down her length. The attack had shaken him but showing it was a weakness and he had never been accused of weakness.

He watched as Bellatrix strode into the room, confident and beautiful. Severus, his loyal spy, was next as he entered with his head up high but lacking a bit of the swagger he noramlly had. Lucius was last and Voldemort watched as he entered with the same condescending confidence that he normally had.

Of course he knew that they had nothing to report but he would wait to see how they spun each of their failures.

"It has been far too long since I was attacked. Report." He stared at each, waiting for their accounts of their lack of progress.

Sneering at the two men with her, Bellatrix approached Voldemort and bowed, "My team has found no trace of the attackers except for a few dead Aurors and a Muggle farmer that reported he saw someone on a broom. We've interrogated the farmer but he didn't have any further details."

As she stood, she once more looked towards the others, "There was one member of the security detail that managed to successfully strike one of the attackers. You remember Liam Neary, my Lord?"

Severus was silent as Bella delivered her piece. As for himself, he'd turned up little more than whispers and half-baked shadows. Nothing of true import, not until they were definitive, but he wasn't about to interrupt Bella while she was talking. Merlin knew the woman liked the Dark Lord's attention far too much.

"And Severus, what have you found to report?" Voldemort turned his attention from Bellatrix, he would deal with her failure shortly. He wanted to hear from each of them before he addressed the attack and his plan to hunt down the perpetrators.

"A point of entry, my Lord. The two missing Death Eaters were found, I suspect some type of charm to hide their bodies, but from there I was able to trace where the likely point of entry was for the attack," Severus supplied.
