Percy still felt like someone was watching him. Staring at him. It raised his hackles and put him on guard. His wand was in the pocket of his robes, within reach; but if someone attacked he certainly wouldn't get to it in time.
The feeling of eyes upon him in this place was part of the atmosphere. He had to tell himself that, otherwise, he would never come back. "I know we beleive different things - you two believing in something noble and hard - and me, keeping to the rules. I just tried to work within the rules so I could stay safe. I tried to encourage Ron and Ginny to follow me, to protect them. But ... I don't know if any of that, this, is right anymore."
He looked over his shoulder, scanning the dark landscape for anyone or anything that could be watching.
Percy stared behind him as he continued talking to his parents. "I wanted to tell you - like I should have - that, even though I left, I loved you all. Do you know how hard it was to send that jumper back?." He paused. "But," he said, "people were watching." His volume increased with each word.
He jumped to his feet and fumbled for his wand. He had enough of this voyeur. Whoever, whatever, it was. "Who's there?" he shouted. "I know I'm not crazy! I know you're there."
