Halloween 2006

It was a small and quaint affair at my parents' house in Kennewick.

It involved a smoke machine, a severed arm, a tunnel of horror, two different vampires from the 30's and a projector.

It's a mixture of black and white film shots along side a few color digital pics.

This is my front picture not because it has anything to do with halloween (other than how spooky it is) but because I took it to finish off the roll of b&w. (and of course to see a bigger version of any pic, just commence with the clicking on)

First pic of myself and my personal assistant andy. I'm a killer skeleton clown and andy is Igor via 'Young Frankenstein.' We had a system, andy would roam around outside, walking the trick or treaters to the door, if he knocked only twice, there was a small child so I took off the mask to answer the door. If there were three knocks, god help them.

Of course my skeleton head staff was guarding the bow... er... the front of the porch.

Here's a cool high contrast shot of my hanging midgit monster bub. His eyes... don't look into them...

Moving on to the porch itself, I loved the last breaths of sun coming through the slats. I put up black garbage bags off the awning, so as you walk up the steps you're in a cute little quasi-tunnel. And whos arm is that?

Not in this picture yet, I put a table on the porch, covered it in a pirate flag, and put a gothic candle holder, a glass head, and a ceramic dragon on it.

In the window by the door I put a small TV with dracula (from 1932) playing continuously, I also covered the rest of the window above the tv with a black towel so no one could see inside.

Here's a wider view of the house, of course the garage door to the right was utilized.

That's right, I put a projector (locked in my dad's truck) aimed at the garage door.

The film I projected was Nosferatu. A German vampire film from 1928. This was a shot of him (er... it) rising from his coffin.

The shadow in the foreground on this one is an-er-igor.. dancing (again, see 'young frankenstein').

Of course we had to give something out other than frightful merriment, so we had play dough and snickers.

The fog machine was an auto mode and was reinforced by strobe light. It was muy cool. I put speakers under the porch, and the cool thing was I ran a LONG cord into the house and controlled everything from my ipod, inside the warm house.
