Prom night

Kate had on her new prom dress, makeup, jewelry all set to go. Her hair was pulled up and back with a few tendrils hanging down the back. Her and Will were just outside the entrance to the stately country club where the event was being held.

She glanced over at him, and kissed his cheek, "Here we go."

Its a very impressive place and Will keeps adjusting the tux, it feels oddly constricting,

"Oh aye, 'ope I do e'erythin' right."

"You'll be fine. Just relax." She gave him one more soft kiss on the lips for good measure. A note of confidence before walking through the entrance.

He keeps tight hold of her hand as they enter and he looks around at the people collecting tickets and the general shine to everything.

After waiting their turn, tickets were given. There was a photographer set up to the side to take pictures of couples.

"Did you want to do that first?"

"Should we?"

Will was planning on just following Kate wherever she led, it seemed simpler.

"I wouldn't mind. We look all nice, and can set some up in the room. Be easier to do it now before we head in." There was just dancing right now. The dinner buffet would be a little later.

"I'd like that then, love."

He leans up to kiss her cheek as they get in line.

A couple of her classmates eyed Will since they had never seen him before. There were a few whispers here and there.

Kate leaned to whisper to him just before it was their turn for pictures, "Don't worry about it."

"Just make sure to introduce me to the ones that count."

As they're eyed, Will flashes his outlaw grin at them and a few actually move back a step or two.

Gentle poke to his side.

"Behave, or at least wait until they give you a reason." Some were very snobbish, so she didn't mind those that had backed up.

It was then time to pose for a few minutes before the lights and the camera.

The posing is kind of odd but its nice being told to be closer to Kate and he whispers in her ear,

"But ye dinna like it when I be'ave too much."

Kate was somewhere between laughing and blushing at the whisper at her ear.

"Just behave a little... for now?" She whispered back after their pictures were done.

In a louder voice she added, "Come on, let's go find some seats."

He keeps his arm around her waist as they walk into the main room and he tenses slightly as he tries to get a sense of the place,

"Oh aye, didna our tickets 'ave some number things on 'em?"

"Yeah, they did. Come on, this way."

A few voices called out, and waved to her.

"Hey Kate, over here!" There were a few couples sitting at a table and smiling at them.

One was a blonde teen dressed in red who eyed Will.

"Is this your mysterious boyfriend?"

"Yes, Natalie, it is," Kate rolled her eyes, and added to Will, "Don't worry about her, Will. She's like that all the time."

"I'm mysterious, am I? Will 'ave to 'member that, like bein' mysterious."

When they arrive at the table, he gives a bow to the table in general,

"I'm Will, so ye're Natalie, who's e'eryone else?"

Another girl with brown hair and features suggesting a mixed heritage grinned, "Oh you didn't say he's super hot, Kate. And that accent, meow."

Her date, a fit man with blond hair remarked, "Big deal. He and 3/4s of the city have an accent."

Kate pointed out to Will, "That's Phil, and Ms. Flirt there is Lisa. That's Roger over next to Natalie, and that's Amy and Stephen." Gesturing to a decidedly mousy couple, both slight with thin, light brown hair.
