Last night was the reuion show.
Before it happened, I thought I'd be writing this:
"Last night's
Ariadne set was like all other ones. I barely knew what
I was doing, and it would've gone fine without me."
But I didn't feel like that. Maybe because I used Jon Weed's amp
and could hear myself. Maybe because playing a show is more fun than
I remembered.

And you're pretty much the most creative, innovative, sound-gooding at guitar guy I know, so I'll have to return the compliment of being awe-some.
Here's the deal with the shut-down:
According to the State's constitution, the State Legislature, in Trenton, had until midnight of June 30 to submit a budget to the Governor for him to approve. They missed the deadline, so basically, the state doesn't have the authority to spend any money. When that happens, the governor has to order the government to shut-down. that means non-essential operations are ceased.
"Non-essential" operations include road construction projects, motor vehicle offices, casinos (as they are regulated by the state), the lottery, and state parks, probably among other things (but they're waiting until tomorrow to shut down casinos, until after the holiday weekend).
I think the fact that libraries are run by counties is precisely why they're not shut down: they don't depend on money from the state for day-to-day operating costs.
The shut-down will continue until the Legislature (which will meet today) submits a budget that governor Corzine signs.
Here's the back-story: Corzine wants the sales tax to increase to 7%, and has said he'd veto any budget that doesn't include that increase. Some people in the Legislature (enough to sway the vote) don't want the increase, so they haven't been able to come up with a budget that the governor will approve of.
Here's the rumor: George Norcross, a South Jersey political boss, thinks Corzine is too independant, and has made sure Democrats in the Legislature from South Jersey try to block the sales tax increase.
