So, it turns out after years upon years of reading comic books, I actually picked up a little something about, you know, dashing heroics and whatnot by osmosis.

Here is a step by step guide to how heroes save the day:

Step 1: Be awesome (I was lucky and already had that one covered).
Step 2: Be in a situation where heroics are needed
Step 3: Act appropriately heroic in response to the situation.
Step 4: Get a hero's worth of thank you.
Step 5: Be too cool and hero-like to be phased by the gratitude.

I am a master of those steps.
