[If you run into Yuri around town, he looks just as tired as everyone else. Sword hangs limply at his side, posture a little more slouched, and the energy lacks in his eyes and grin

[Honestly the training seemed like a good idea. It was a shame Guy was in no shape to offer a spar. All the same, he cross his arms and watched for a while as Yuri swung over and over. Yuri looked as terrible as Guy felt, so of course the blond had to harass him a bit.]
[It was depressing if everyone was having nightmares and going around looking so tired and zombie-like.]
[Guy smiles amiably. Honestly, he looks pretty fine. Tired, but he's damn practiced at covering everything else up, if there was anything but the current curse. Even then he doesn't look particularly perturbed, so the dreams can't be that bad, right?]
How've you been? [He's a bit more direct in asking.]
I've been worse. [Just as vague, but honest enough. And because the conversation is so exciting--or awkward--a large monster decides now is the time to interrupt.]
[Maybe it wanted to ask directions, but got confused, but in any case it's drooling and full of fangs and claws and the talons heading for Yuri's back might just to tap him politely to get his attention but Guy doesn't really take it that way.]
Hey! Look out! [Already stepping forward, drawing his sword.]
[Yuri turns and immediately brings his sword up to block - he doesn't have the time to unsheathe his blade, but this is certainly good enough to keep those claws from sinking into his chest. The monster beats its claws against his sword, hoping to break his guard. Nope, not happening, bro! Yuri stands solid and unwavering, teeth grit.]
[Oh, well, Yuri's got this. Guy stops and lets his sword drop back in its sheath, crossing his arms as he watches. He'll intervene if Yuri really needs him, but he doesn't look like it right now.]
Letting something like this give you a little trouble?
[He jumps back to gain some distance before leaping toward the monster, sword raised in offense this time. The monster's skin is thick and almost steel-like in the way the metal scratches against it. He doesn't mind being left with this thing - despite its incredible shell and incredible power, it's nothing compared to the more vicious monsters down below. A challenge but not a threat.]
Tiger Blade!
[He juggles the monster for a moment before sending it sprawling on the crunch of the forest grounds. Before he moves in for a mystic arte, the monster leaps up and changes course- toward Guy, claws outstretched and flexing.
For once his breath catches, and he sees only blond hair in a familiar side-swept fashion, a flash of blue eyes. He feels only the heaviness in his hands.]
Hey-- hey!
[Because he isn't moving fast enough for his comfort, for his brief moment of panic as he dashes - sprints. Sword sinks into softer flesh, caught in bone and gut as he makes an effort to slice and create pieces
( ... )
[There's something in Yuri's expression, his voice that worries Guy. Guy's smart enough to catch it, put the pieces together. He doubts Yuri wants his concern though. He's grateful enough for the save, whatever Yuri's reasons. He probably shouldn't be out this far, not when he's not sure of his own ability to defend himself. To be honest, he's lucky Yuri's feeling protective and guilty. But he doesn't show it.]
[Instead his lazy response is dripping with teasing sarcasm.]
My hero. Do you save everyone this way, or is the flashy show only for me?
[If there's anything about Guy Yuri appreciates, it's his understanding of timing, what to say or what not to say. It always seemed to work out in Yuri's favor in the end. Less of a hassle, less of a mess. He gives a lazy grin - well practiced.]
Only for you, princess.
[Yuri's not lacking in the teasing sarcasm, either. It's easier to pack away the deeper thoughts for when he's alone.]
Let's get out of here before we've got a whole herd on our hands.

You look like hell.

Thanks. I'll take that as a compliment. You look pretty well yourself.

[He goes to fish for his sheath - he finds it in some bushes and slides it back over his sword.]
What brings you here?

[He was worried.]
Reply
[It definitely isn't.]
You cursed?
Reply
Don't get too excited. [A shrug.] Yeah. I'm not even going to ask about you.

[Sword is propped on his shoulder, now.]
I haven't seen you around lately.
[because Yuri hasn't been by the house or by the restaurant or anything very much. This is also Yuri's roundabout way of asking how you are, Guy.]

Could be better.
[He's being honest, but he's not going to go into detail]
