Torchwood: Exorcism

It is all the fault of the fucking French boy.  Or rather, it is all the fault of the French boy Jack is fucking.

Not that Ianto is jealous.  Why would he be?  Not after what happened-not after what Jack did to Lisa.  Not even weeks afterwards, not even when Jack has been so polite, so eager to conquer Ianto’s heart and mind, win him back into the ( Read more... )

Thank you so much for the detailed comment! I'm glad to hear that you liked it. As far as Ianto not punching back goes, I was seriously considering it, but ended up (just) not including it, largely because I felt that after the events of Cyberwoman Ianto became, for a while, quiet (though this could just be the impression given by his relatively small amount of screen-time in Small Worlds. Damn lack of Ianto). I also thought that since Ianto didn't expect to get punched, his first reaction would probably be surprise, though perhaps I didn't make that clear enough. I completely agree with what you're saying, though--it's a weakness I can see there too, and though I'm happy with these events (from a writer's POV), if I ever get the time I'd love to write exactly the same beginning leading onto a fistfight and then rough sex with Ianto 'on top'. (Then again, that could just be because it would both a) turn me on and b) fulfill my interest in different timelines/alternate realities/the differences made by single choices.)

I'm not sure if the above is coherent (it's nine in the morning and I'm not an early bird,) but I hope it is! Again, thanks for the review and the really insightful comment--it's much appreciated.

I'm not offended at all! Concrit (and that was definitely constructive, as well as being really considerately phrased) is something I welcome with open arms. I know that not all fanfic authors are writing for the same reasons, and I can totally understand someone who's just having some fun not wanting concrit--but for me fanfic, whilst being fun of course, is also a way for me to practice and improve my writing, and concrit is 100% essential for that. I wish more people were happy giving it! Then again, given the reaction it gets in some places, I can see why people aren't.

I completely agree with how underused Ianto was, and I'd add that, at least in my eyes, his characterization was really wonky. In a way, how vague his portrayal was had its uses--he was the perfect character to explore further in fanmaterial, for instance--but at other times it had me glaring at my TV screen and begging for consistency, or at least exposition which would explain actions. Here's hoping for S2!

I also agree that Ianto's an amazingly strong character--in fact, in my opinion he's probably one of the strongest, if not the strongest, in Torchwood: losing Lisa definitely hardened something up in him. (That was not intended to come out as suggestive as it did.) As I said, I can see where you're coming from with the too-easy-submission thing and I'll definitely bear it in mind; it really makes sense to me.

Thanks again!

I said I couldn't wait to read this and it was definitely worth waiting for. As much as I enjoy reading pretty much all Jack/Ianto fics, a lot of them are quite fluffy, which I just don't see Jack and Ianto being. I can see this scenario happening - even placed sometime within season two - because angry sex between these two works. And it's hot! And you wrote it well. I'd love to see you write it as you mentioned - fistfight then rough sex with Ianto topping. That would be awesome :-)

I'm really glad to hear that you liked it and it was worth the wait! Top!Ianto is haunting me at the moment (there's a serious lack of that, and I'd be the first admit that it shows in my work too) so you might be in luck...
