If you’re not familiar with the kdrama scene this won’t make any sense to you, but regardless, I feel the need to get it out.
There’s been a heap of questions involving the Kdrama Triple and a certain brother and sister pair. The two main characters, Haru and Hwal, are not related by blood but are legally siblings due to their parents’ marriage. They barely know each other at the beginning of the story, and as everything is progressing it’s becoming more and more apparent to the viewers that these two may not end up as just brother and sister.
And I guess that freaks some people out.
There’s been some heated debate over whether the drama will actually head in that direction. Some stalwart viewers still claim that the relationship is purely sibling love, which could be completely possible as far as episode 6 (and I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. Their dynamic is adorable, after all). However, people should keep in mind that this is the same screenwriter and director who made Coffee Prince, a drama about pseudo homosexual love. Clearly they’re not afraid of pushing boundaries or portraying what some societies see as forbidden fruit.
In any case, my issue is this: what’s the big deal?
This actually happens, you know. People with children all over the world divorce and remarry, and sometimes the kids don’t get along and sometimes they do. Sometimes they start dating. It’s a big shrug to me because it’s not really anyone’s business but the people in the relationship, and so far this drama has shown that the so-called siblings are forming a deep bond. It’s not like they’re humping each other on the couch, so what exactly is the problem?
If it’s actually love, what’s the issue?
But that’s me, and I suppose I’m a bit more open minded than most people. It just irks me to see comments like, “This is getting sickening. Haru began falling for Wal,” (credited to talia2009 from viikii) while I’m watching what I think is a well filmed, well acted, well written drama.
Update: After watching up to episode 7, Haru confesses that she likes Hwal, and can't seem to stop even though she knows she shouldn't. Hwal, dumbfounded, brushes it off and later tells one of his buddies it's just a crush and he's not interested, so who knows where this will go.
I've been trying to avoid the comments after a couple earlier ones brought my temper to a boil, but I happened to glance at the first comment while watching episode 7 and am now furious. Haru is badly injured while skating in this episode, and BeautifulShinee has the gall to write, "Its her fault she got hurt...why oh why do u have to like ur oppa? goshhh."
The girl may have just crushed her skating career, and it's her fault because she might have feelings for her stepbrother?
Seriously. -_-' I'm so disenchanted with humanity right now.
