Brendon and Jon were watching one of the Aladdin movies in Jon's Chicago apartment. Well, it was playing, and they were in the room, but neither were particularly paying any attention.
Jon was on the floor, propped against the sofa with his legs stretched out in front of him. He had a purring Dylan in his lap that he was petting idly as he wriggled his toes, teasing a tiny Clover.
Brendon was curled up on the armchair adjacent to him, gaze flicking between Jon and the screen every few seconds. He'd tried to get Jon to sing along to One Jump Ahead a little while ago, but Jon'd gotten distracted halfway through when Clover had attacked his foot quite viciously.
Brendon glared at the small kittens and hmphed. As Genie started into Brendon's favorite song to sing with Jon and Jon remained oblivious on the floor, Brendon got up and walked out of the room.
He returned a few minutes later, favorite blanket and Build-A-Bear clutched in his arms. He'd passed the kitchen on his way back and grabbed an apple Capri Sun, which was hanging from between his teeth. Brendon got comfortable on the chair again and punched the straw into his juicebag viciously, glaring at Clover and Dylan. He put the other end of the straw into his mouth and started drinking, Build-a-Bear cuddled to his chest, steadfastly ignoring Jon now and keeping his eyes glued to the screen.
After a few minutes, Brendon felt eyes on him and he risked a glance over to Jon. He was sitting up properly now, Clover curled up asleep at his feet, and he was holding Dylan up as they both looked at him intently. Jon had a small pout on his face.
Brendon hugged his bear tighter and put his juice down on the coffee table, empty. He watched Jon with interest as he put Dylan down, watched as the kitten raced off, and when he looked for Jon again, the elder male was at his feet, resting his chin on Brendon's knee.
"Love you," Jon mouthed and kissed the boy's blanket-covered knee, not breaking eye contact.
When a small smile graced Brendon's face, brightening his eyes, Jon grinned widely and pulled him down onto the floor where they settled together to watch the rest of the movie, feet tangled together and hands clasped underneath the blanket, shoulders touching.
