In my case, they have been triggered by my wife's dementia. She's not dead, though at this point I might as well be for all the recognition I get when walking through the door. The good news is that acceptance, coupled with trust in God (or faith) brings peace. Eventually.
God is good and acts only out of the goodness that is his character. Always.
