Of shopping and beer.

My online shopping spree continues to run on a slow burn. I'm afraid it's becoming a bit of a problem. On the other hand, I am getting some awesome stuff, like my Psych DVDs, which finally arrived in the mail, and my biggest score yet: a gorgeous pair of Marc Jacobs boots I got for 80% off. They're basically amazing.

Monday was Lauren's 21st birthday, so we got all dolled up to go out with some of her friends to our local Flying Saucer, which has about a zillion different varieties of beer. Now, the only previous experience I'd had with beer have been the cheap Natural Light you get at frat parties, and once I had a sip of my mother's Coors Light Lime, which I was not terribly impressed with, so I was looking forward to trying more varieties. And boy, there were a lot to choose from. I tried several different drinks that night, but my favorite was a black currant-flavoured lambic. I also liked an apple-flavored cider. It made me feel like a little bit of a wuss that the drinks I liked best were of the sweet, fruity, least beer-like variety, but I guess that's just how my tastebuds operate. And who knows, there could still be a proper beer out there somewhere that I'll like. We'll just have to see.
