Forehead trumps nose
They've been tearing down the three buildings to the north of us this week, and we've killing our productivity watching them. They'd mostly been clearing out the insides of the buildings, leaving most of the walls up. Today they started on the walls, including the one about eight feet from our building, which is what we'd really been waiting for.
While they were working on the front facade of the building, however, a two story section fell out into the street. They'd fenced off out to the parking lane already, but the wall still knocked down the fence and fell out into the street. We weren't quite sure if anyone was hurt or what kind of damage there was, and there was a little excitement in the office. I happened to be right behind one of my coworkers, moving pretty fast, when he decided to spin around and walk directly into my nose with his head.
So for the second time in my life, my nose has been broken. It's still a bit swollen, so I can't really tell how much worse it is yet, but it's bent even more to the left now.
There's even a video of the wall falling. A couple of things to note: The guy walking in from the left just before the wall goes down. You can't really tell on the video, but according the the FedEx guy the fence hit him, and he just took off running; And at about 31 seconds, you can hear someone say "Sam ran into Joe's face freaking out." Yep, I'm now officially referenced on YouTube.
