Actually, it was Harry who reported the meowing. Harry's friend (Jess) reacted with disbelief: "You made a woman meow?!"

This has got to be one of the most...unexpected notes_to_cat yet. :) I can definitely see how that might not do it for some of your callers.

Mine are loud, prowly, and destructive when I'm not paying attention to them; many a time I've been on the phone and a crash and several suspicious thumps made people ask if I was pissed off or if someone was trashing the place. "No, it's just the...well...I have cats," and they say, "OOOoh..."--like it's a communicable disease or something. (If by STD you meant a Shorthaired Tabby Domesticus, then yeah.) ;)

It's actually pretty funny because one guy was all like: "AW! You have a kitty!!"

It reminded me of that little graph that was circulating about the inanity of your speech growing as you get closer to a kitty.

Apparently it also applies if you hear a kitty.

It was really cute.
