The Duelist Ball is a special, invite only, very fancy affair. Pegasus was really going all out for this, sparing no expense for such a star-studded, beautiful evening. The invitation was very pushy about bringing a date (god help you if you didn't, who knew what Pegasus would do to you if you showed up alone). There was really only one woman you

After arriving to her place, flowers and chocolates in hand, he knocked on the door, definitely nervous. As the door opened and Yugi saw the other's makeover, he was nearly speechless. "M-mou hitori no boku, you didn't have to do all..." ...This. Yugi was expecting his partner to just put on some fancy dress, not this. Because that's how girls work, right? Not that he minded, of course. "...You look amazing."
For a moment, he continued to be awkward and stunned, before remembering the chocolate and stuff. "...Oh. I brought you these." He did feel a little guilty for pressuring her into this, and he knew how much Atem loved chocolate.

She smiled a little when those gifts were produced and she reached out to take them, momentarily forgetting her previous feelings. "You didn't have to get me anything." She stepped back into the apartment and set to finding a vase, placing the chocolates on the counter.

He forced a smile, still as nervous as ever, when she replied. "I had to. I know you didn't wanna go." But he had to be the worst aibou ever and force her to go, oh no.
He shyly reached out to take her hand after she returned, ready to leave. "Come on. There's a limo waiting outside." Pegasus's idea, of course, he wanted Yugi and his date to look their best.

"A limo is rather lavish, isn't it?" She was only slightly aware that it must have been Pegasus' doing but she was holding out a slight hope that Yugi had somehow gotten one for them instead. She really just didn't have any bone in her body that trusted anything that man tossed their way. Even this ball set-up she was skeptical about.

He lead the other outside, where a well-dressed chauffeur was waiting for them next to the aforementioned limousine. The man bowed and politely greeted the two duelists, before opening the car door for them.
Yugi not-awkwardly-at-all let go of Atem's hand as he looked up at her. "Ah... you first?"

A brisk nod was given to the driver before her dress was clutched. "Thanks." She then stepped into the limo carefully, sliding to the farthest seat to make sure Yugi had room to get in. Once inside she began nervously flattening her dress once more. "I'm sure he won't allow the paparazzi into the party itself, but I have no doubts that they'll be everywhere outside." She was already formulating plans on how quickest to get inside. She really didn't want to be photographed too much looking like this.

He frowned slightly noticing that she was fixing up her outfit. "You look fine, mou hitori no boku." He placed a hand on hers as he continued. "Don't worry about the paparazzi." Because he won't feel nervous about them himself, nope.

"I look strange, for me. I'm sure we're going to be plastered all over tomorrow's headlines." It was one of the things she hated about all of this. Yugi always deserved his privacy. But it was something she could never do for him.

He drummed his fingers on his leg, nervous and whatever. For a moment, he was silent, before adding, "...I'm sorry, about all this. I'll make it up to you."
Reply
"Don't be sorry." She replied softly, eyes wandering back to him. "I'd rather you go with me than anyone else anyway." A slight grin as her more possessive nature dripped into her meaning.
