The Duelist Ball is a special, invite only, very fancy affair. Pegasus was really going all out for this, sparing no expense for such a star-studded, beautiful evening. The invitation was very pushy about bringing a date (god help you if you didn't, who knew what Pegasus would do to you if you showed up alone). There was really only one woman you ( Read more... )

Pegasus won't mind two girl BFFs showing up without escorts, now will he? XD whitewizardgirl January 13 2012, 04:48:24 UTC
The Duelist Ball. She didn't know why she was invited anyway. The Spirit was the one that took his eye out, so she was still confused as to why she, of all people, would be invited.

Still, a party was a party, especially if you specifically were invited. So, after pestering Atem enough, they both decided to go together since the others still didn't want to have anything to do with Pegasus.

She had, as well, straightened and tamed her hair, pulling it back into an elegant bun with a few stray pieces left hanging to frame her face. Her face was scrubbed and made up to perfection, even her pale face seemed to have a soft glow to it. Her dress was white, brighter than her hair but it wasn't overpowering.

Seeing Atem in her own gown, she certainly was stunned, never seeing such a beautiful gown on her before. It was a change from the usual leather, that was for sure. Though her expression expressed her unhappiness, despite how gorgeous she looked. Ryou tried to ease the situation, at least.

"Don't worry. The limo is just outside, waiting for us."

IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A ROMANTIC DATE note_atem January 13 2012, 04:53:37 UTC
Ryou was more of a girly-girl than she'd ever be, that much she'd come to accept. She was just soft and gentle in everything she did. Atem was used to being rough and domineering. It was why she wasn't too surprised that Ryou could look so pretty without trying.

Atem shifted, pushing down on the skirt of her dress, still anxious about all of this. A nod was given as she stepped out of her apartment and shut the door. "I'm warning you though, if Pegasus pulls anything I'm leaving." She was not in the mood to put up with that man.

WELL, SCREW PEGASUS. SHE'S GOING WITH HER BEST FRIEND. whitewizardgirl January 13 2012, 05:18:56 UTC
Ryou walked beside her, just trying to keep a calm demeanor and trying to be positive about the situation.

"We'll stay for about an hour, to be polite, and we can leave after that, if your still uncomfortable. Besides, from the invitation, it looks like a big party. We might barely have to interact with him." The host had to greet and mingle with -all- of his guests, so he might interact with them very little, she assumed. Lifting up her skirt, she walked down the path back towards the limo, smiling.

"It'll be over before you know it, I promise."

there will be bothers but I really don't feel like playing him note_atem January 13 2012, 05:23:13 UTC
Her eyes went immediately to Ryou's action before she copied it. It would at least assist her in getting down the stairs properly and not rip her dress like a moron. She knew she didn't like wearing this, though. She was already uncomfortable in it but she'd just have to tough it out now.

"We can stay for however long you want. As long as he isn't pulling anything I don't care." This wasn't entirely the truth, but she wasn't tagging along solely to ruin Ryou's evening.

Well, I have to bed soon, so one more post, and I can reply with him tomorrow... sometime XD whitewizardgirl January 13 2012, 05:36:44 UTC
Ryou still smiled and walked towards the limo. She certainly wasn't going to stay at the party if her guest was uncomfortable, but she knew enough about socializing to know when it was okay to leave a party and such. No sense in staying long if Atem didn't want to be there. Soon, the limo came into sight.

"Do you want to get in first? That way you won't have to be the first out if Pegasus greets his guests at the... car door?" Seemed logical enough. Plus, she didn't want Atem to ruin her dress, especially if it might get caught in the door or something.

Atem will srsly hurt him if he's too craycray or annoying note_atem January 13 2012, 05:40:44 UTC
She clutched at her dress, picking it up a little more than necessary as the limo pulled to a stop. The driver got out, addressing them both with a greeting and opened the door. Another nod was given.

"I don't know if he'll be that personable. But I'm betting there will be cameras and fans." The man in charge of this whole thing had certainly advertised it loud enough for such things. She was waiting on the annoying flash of bulbs and screaming of girls and boys alike. With a roll of her eyes simply at the thought she ducked her head and shifted into the limo.

Don't worry. He'll be fabulous~ yet tame for the occasion XD whitewizardgirl January 13 2012, 05:53:30 UTC
Ryou waited until Atem was comfortably seated before getting in herself, making sure to pull her dress fully inside before the door was closed. Not taking chances in ruining her own dress either.

"Well, the party will probably have security so we shouldn't have to worry about them too much." At least she hoped as much. Seriously, taking the Queen of Games as a guest was pretty ballsy, her probably getting offers from other duelists, and possibly a suitor or two.

Still, she was glad it was Atem with her. Soon enough, the venue came into view, looking every bit as classy and stylish as she had expected it to be.

she still will not liek him also pick a number 1-3 note_atem January 13 2012, 17:02:11 UTC
"He'll need something to give to them. And he loves making a scene." Of this she had no doubt. He wouldn't allow them into the party she was sure, but they'd be crawling around outside- preferably behind security ropes. While the man was blatant in his actions and annoying, he wasn't stupid and completely careless.

When they started rounding closer towards their destinations her hands clenched quietly, jaw set and eyes narrowing. She could feel her heart already hammering away. This was no good. She really didn't want to be here; looking like this, anyway. What would people think of their champion if she didn't look tough anymore?

She doesn't have to like him, just has to show up to his party. And uhh... #2. whitewizardgirl January 14 2012, 02:46:39 UTC
Ryou looked over at her friend, noting how the closer they got, the more nervous she became. Was she really that uncomfortable coming here? Or was there something else going on? She put the thought away in case something happened later. For now, the limo was stopping and a security guard was opening the door and offering his hand to help her out of the car.

"You'll be fine." She said finally, getting out of the car with the help of the guard.

Meanwhile, the Host himself was inside, smiling and greeting everyone warmly as per usual. He certainly wasn't going to let anyone feel left out at his ball, not a chance.

This was the moment. Now or never. Part of her was sorely tempted to order the driver to just take her home. But Ryou was already out of the car and the last thing she was was a coward.

She exited the car, careful of her dress, and making sure not to address any of the flashing cameras with direct eye contact. The reporters were similarly ignored. Once they were safely inside the archway of the doors she took a moment to draw a slow and calming breath, eyes wandering the ceilings. If Pegasus was nearby he was getting the same treatment as the cameras had been getting.

Pegasus was still greeting guests inside with just as much bubbling enthusiasm as was to be expected of the man. He was every bit of an inviting host and it certainly shown in the faces of the other guests.

"Welcome, welcome, so glad you could come. My, you look wonderful my dear, did you do something with your hair? How are the children, good? Wonderful to hear!"

He seemed distracted, so Ryou slowly and quietly lead Atem away from all of the attention and away from Pegasus to a more quieter area. Maybe not saying anything to him first would help ease her friend's anxiety.

"Maybe we can hide over here for the night and just quietly sneak past before we're noticed much more." Anything to help her friend.

Even the sound of the man's voice had her clutching her dress tighter as she walked; the effort partially due to wanting to walk faster. She sincerely hoped they could get away with him not once talking to them but she highly doubted it. Once they were out of view she released a quick sigh.

"We can really stay as long as you'd like, Ryou." Her hands were uncurled and quickly went to sweeping out the wrinkles in her dress. A soft smile was given in return. "You should at least eat some of their food and dance with someone if that's what you want."

Yeah, but Atem left alone is just -inviting- Pegasus to come over and start talking :| whitewizardgirl January 15 2012, 06:09:09 UTC
Ryou looked over at her friend. She didn't want to leave Atem alone in this kind of environment, especially since she seemed so skittish before. Would that really be a good idea?

Dancing can always be pushed back for later, right?

"We can go over to the food table together. I don't mind waiting with you." That and she didn't really know anyone here besides Atem and Pegasus. And Pegasus wasn't really high on her people to talk with list either.
