She has had missions like this before, in a long ago time when this world had not been her home. It was the last thought she has before Cissnei opens her eyes to find him staring back at her, her surprised expression caught in the mirror over his shoulder as well. This... This is familiar.
"I need just another minute." Cissnei tells him, not quite knowing what was going on, not really caring until she can at least move to brush past him, stopping next to the man to raise a hand to touch him.

He turned, gazing at her for a moment. "Is something wrong?"

Cissnei had lived it before.
"Just let me stay close, alright? I have a few concerns about the security." She tells him once Cissnei finds her voice again, tilting her head to give the other a small bit of a smile, though hazel eyes seemed distant. "But have fun, tonight is, after all, about you."
When she pulls away, it was to her suitcase, down to the bottom where the lockbox that held her materia stayed.

Sometimes fans got out of hand, sometimes people with darker intentions tried to get their way, but it had never been so much of an issue that caused her to react like that. ...or was he imagining things?
He managed a soft smirk for the sake of appearance in the face of all this. "When have I ever really kept you far?"

"Which you know I appreciate." Straightening, she moves back over to Atem, giving him her best smile. "Anyway, ready? I won't make you late."

His hands slipped into his own pockets as his shoulders moved back slightly. "I can cancel, if you'd rather." The party was one of unnecessary need. Birthdays weren't important to him, much less was spending them in a room full of fans and people he didn't really know. It would be too easy for him to accept that canceling would be a good idea.

"I think we can press forward." Briefly, she considers calling her boss, who she knew would beef up security with a little convincing. She lets a soft laugh escape her, subtle and warm. "I'm glad you take me so seriously."

He just had to keep believing that- believing in her. And he did without a doubt. He stepped forward to meet her, his hand brushing against hers in a small, affectionate manner.

She'd protect him, she had to.
"Let's go, then." A smile small on her face, she pulled the door open for him. She knew this, she had done it before, so keeping an eye out for anything different should be easy.
