In this world there are two types of creatures- humans and vampires. One or the other and each had their own place. The humans didn't like the vampires. They saw them as dangerous, sinful, evil creatures. The vampires were at least tolerant of the human's stupidity from time to time. But there were people who dabbled in the middle. A very dangerous

Yugi may not have been as much of a powerful and well-known vampire as Atem, but that was just how he was. No one tends to notice you when you're... well... short, weak, good-natured, timid. At least he didn't have any enemies, right? He could even blend in with humans at times, as long as they didn't think he was a certain somebody instead.
The other's greeting came as a surprise. Yugi wasn't expecting to see the other during his stroll around town tonight... or at all. He and Atem weren't complete strangers though. Sort of. Their eyes met only a few times before, but they never really had the chance to actually talk.
"Oh... h-hello." Of course he'd give the other a friendly smile, doing his best not to come off as too nervous. But with how awkward he was, he didn't remember to bow or show his respect. aw shit

His smirk widened, still leaning back against the building. "How are you this evening, Yugi?" Formality was a must. He always had to assert the fact that he was knowledgeable in just about everything.
Reply
"I'm fine," Ah, better be formal back! "...Atem." Nice save, he'll never know that he almost forgot, especially not with that little smile looking a bit more sheepish. "How about you?"
Reply
"I'm doing well." There was no real call here to say it was a lie. Even if it was there was not much that could be done about it, not much that he would allow to be done about it. "I thought I'd just check in on our younger members this evening."
Reply
Don't think he didn't notice those scratches or anything. Yugi tried his best not to stare, though Atem probably noticed anyway.
Reply
"Would you mind if I accompanied you?"

Part of him didn't want Atem, or anyone, to see how messy it was either. That would just be embarrassing. Still, a mumbly little "But if you really wanted to..." slipped out. If he really wanted to, it'd be rude to say no, right?
Reply
"If you'd rather I leave you alone you can just say so." Trying desperately not to lace that statement with threat. It was really hard to do when you were used to speaking to people like that all the time. He couldn't remember the last time he'd even entertained the idea of having a normal conversation.
Reply
"Sure, we can walk together."

It wasn't really a shock when Yugi obliged him. He smiled a little, nodding. "Let's." It was nice either way. It wasn't like he got to spend most of his nights wrapped in enthralling conversation. "Do you like it here?"
Reply
Good thing Atem decided to speak first, that made this so much easier. "It's okay." Aside from a few jerks, but they weren't too bothersome. It helped being kind of immortal. "The people seem friendly." The humans, he meant.
Reply
"Have you been here a long time?"
Reply
"What about you?" Oh, derp, that was silly to ask. Of course he has. "I mean..."

His eyes strayed to the other and out of his own head once the question had been asked. "I was born in Egypt." There was no harm in sharing a little. After all that was courteous, right? Sharing. "I've been all over but Domino just seems to have stuck."
Reply
"What do you like about Domino?" Yugi slowed a bit, since they were pretty close now. Abandoned and broken down houses surrounded the two, not many of them with actual living inhabitants. How gloomy. At least that nearby game shop didn't look too depressing. Maybe.

The question was something to think about, however. "The city life is rather amusing." And what did a vampire have to look forward to anymore but something like that? "It at least allows for a very spirited nightlife." He didn't think he could survive in some dry county where all the shops closed up at ten P.M. How drab.
