Toby really hadn't meant to step on any toes. He'd just wanted to help someone from getting their face bashed in, which, he thought, was a fairly reasonable want.
Sitting at a table outside the diner, it all came quickly; a blonde woman was approaching the door to his right, and at the same time he got a hit off of someone inside -- there'd been an argument, a heated one, and now somebody was heading for the same door - he could tell they were thinking about kicking it open, right where the woman would be in just a moment --
Toby got up, accidentally knocking his chair over in the process. "Hey, look out!" She turned to look at him, still standing directly in front of the door, so he did the only thing he could: grabbed her wrist and pulled her away.
"What the hell are you --"
The door opened - not crashed open, not flew open - , bell dinging pleasantly, despite the fuming man walking out of it and stalking away. A very long, awkward silence passed between Toby and the blonde-haired woman as they both stared at the door, Toby wondering how he was going to explain this.
She wrenched her wrist from his grip, taking a few steps back. "Everyone's a hero," she said, tone dripping with sarcasm, before quirking her eyebrows at him and entering the diner unscathed.
