If you wanted to put Sia in a good mood, apparently all you had to do was remove a false sister who'd been supposedly perfect and who was insistent that she could do Sia's future job better than she could and it had just been a long weekend. And having Leo gone made for a happy real Imperial princess this morning

Juliet hadn't been in the room much over the weekend, so she'd missed the Amazing Princess Leo. She had, however, noticed the change in decor. She liked pink and glittery, but it had been a bit much even for her; she was glad to see Sia redecorating again.

"Oh, you're getting rid of the lava lamp?" she asked, barely concealing her eagerness to see it gone. "It was ... interesting."

"I'd suggest burning it, but I think that would end badly," Sia said, frowning at it. It of course was also pink and glittery. "I don't even understand the purpose of this thing."

"I think stoned people like them?" Juliet asked, sounding a little mystified herself. "I don't know why anybody else buys them."

[notconflicted]

"I think if anyone is buying these for any reason, they need to rethink their life choices." And into the bag of things she was throwing away it went. "If there's anything you want for yourself, by the way, just say so."

Juliet bit a fingernail thoughtfully. Most of it was horrible, but...

"The unicorn pillow's kind of cute," she admitted. "Can I keep it if I say it's ironic?"

Sia tossed the pillow over to her. "I won't judge even if it's not ironic."

Yes, she would. She just wouldn't judge vocally.

Juliet smiled as she caught it. "Thanks," she chirped, and settled it among the dozen other pillows on her bed. "Why did you get all the pink stuff, anyhow?"

"I didn't. I had some insufferable girl calling me her sister all weekend," she explained. "Apparently she also thought my decorating taste wasn't pink enough."

[twintuitionist]

Juliet shuddered. "Ew. I'm going to be glad that one missed me. We do not need to live in a Disney princess store."

[notconflicted]

"She seemed to think she was some sort of..." Sue, Sia. She was a Sue. "She was a princess who killed people with her bare hands and I seem to remember her mentioning being a rock star at one point. I've never been happier to see someone leave."

[twintuitionist]

Juliet stared. "Okay, my sister's an MBA, and she's really pretty, but if she were a rock star assassin princess I would, like, want to kill her in her sleep. You can't live up to that."

Not that Juliet put much effort into living up to Karen, anyhow.

"I wouldn't mind that so much," she said thoughtfully. Sia didn't really feel the need to live up to anyone's expectations but her own. "I minded her bragging about it. Constantly. And for somehow not managing to find a shirt that fit her in any way."

There were some things she didn't need to see, Leo.

"In the 'hi I'm a giant skank' way or the 'I am way too deep to worry about fashion so I shop at garage sales' way?" Juliet wanted to know. "And braggy people suck."

[notconflicted]

"The first thing." Try and get Sia to say the word 'skank.' Wasn't likely to happen. "She probably has her own fashion line and never found a time to mention it."

[twintuitionist]

"I bet it's tacky," Juliet decided, taking in the pile of pink sparkly once again. "She can sell it at Forever 21."

[notconflicted]

And Sia was about to reveal a bit of cluelessness here: "And that would be...?"
