239/240 - Early morning

Jun 15, 2006 11:42

Elizabeth was only really half awake, as she stretched out along the bed.

The fact that she still couldn't really remember what she and Janet were talking about on Monday still bothered her slightly; there had been the gym and then they'd ended back in the room. According to Peter, everyone had been telling each other the truth all day. In which ( Read more... )

Janet had been to Wilderness Survival, and then run into Sam on the way back to the room. So she was slightly less cranky than she could have been. (Okay, and there had been a lot of quality ogling to be done in Wilderness Survival too.) She unlocked the door, slipped inside, and fervently hoped that Liz wasn't here.

Fake fire or not, it hadn't been Elizabeth's favorite workshop.

But now she was back in the room, sorting out laundry.

She looked up as she heard the door unlock and just blinked.

"Oh, damn," said Janet, her face dropping into her palm. "You're here. Hi?"

"Hi, Janet, nice to see you too," Elizabeth said, smiling. She replaced the laundry in the basket and glanced towards her camera, which was sitting by her laptop. "You weren't wearing that when you left this morning."

Janet sighed at the sight of Liz's camera, put her hands on her waist, and gave Liz a somewhat embarrassed smile. "Take the damn picture," she said. "I already ran into Sam and her camera on the way back here. And no, I definitely wasn't. You can either thank or blame Callisto."

"It's less fun when you don't mind me taking the picture," Elizabeth said, grinning, although that didn't stop her from taking one. She took another critical look at what Janet was wearing. "See, while I approve of the lack of things, it's fur. So I'm not so sure."

"It's more that I'm resigned to the inevitable," sighed Janet, rolling her eyes. Janet tugged at a loose tuft of fur. "Hey, I went to class, there were furs there. If they're already dead and skinned, we may as well make use of them, right?" Though she did go straight to her closet to look for clothing to change into.

Elizabeth grinned as she put her camera back down, and moved to sit on the bed, watching Janet scramble around in her closet. "Well, I do get that." She eyed Janet. "You are wearing something else under that, right?"

"Yes, thankfully," said Janet, whirling around, a t-shirt clutched loosely in one hand. "Cal only had us strip to our underwear."

"Oh, thank God," Elizabeth sighed. "You are wearing a bra today then?"

"I wore a lower-cut t-shirt than usual today," mumbled Janet. "I'm kind of mad. I liked that shirt." She stripped off the fur bikini and sarong to reveal a matching forest green satin bra and underwear set.

"See, that I did notice this morning," Elizabeth pointed out. She pouted slightly. "Callisto can't keep it forever, can she? Because I liked it too."

Elizabeth apparently missed Janet getting dressed this morning. She leant back on her elbows. "Okay, that's good. Nothing more's needed."

"She says she'll give them back next week." Janet shook her head. "That's what she said about our shoes last week, and it didn't happen."

Janet looked down at her outfit. "I suppose you think this means I'm not going to leave the room the rest of the day?" she said, crossing her arms and grinning at Liz.

"I'd ask her, but I'm scared of her," Elizabeth said honestly. "Maybe you'll get everything back at the end of the workshop?"

Elizabeth just grinned back. "What would you possibly need to leave the room for?"

"Just because she's cranky and tyrannical?" asked Janet, raising an eyebrow at Liz. "I'm cranky and tyrannical and you're not afraid of me, are you?" She shrugged. "Maybe? If nothing else, I'll find a way to bribe Angel to come back and distract her while we steal it back."

"Well, I did make plans to meet up with English Peter for coffee later," said Janet, closing her closet door and leaning against it. "But that's not for a while yet."

"Of course I'm not afraid of you. I'm in love with you," Elizabeth said, grinning. "That would... hopefully work."

"A while is good," Elizabeth said, pushing herself off the bed and crossing towards Janet.
