Sam had been doing a lot of thinking. It took him a while to convince himself to do it, but he finally made it down to the guest room and knocked on the door, hoping Claire wouldn't hit him when she opened it.

Claire opened the door. She didn't hit him, but she didn't look entirely pleased. "What do you want?"

"Can I talk to you for a few minutes?" Sam asked, giving her the puppy dog eyes of doom.

Claire stepped aside to let him in, wondering if the puppy dog eyes of doom was a super power. "About what?"

"About Logan," Sam said. "I think he's going to ask you out."

Claire raised an eyebrow. "Really?"

Sam nodded. "Well, he asked me if I minded if he did."

"Oh?" Claire replied. "Well, do you?"

That was such a trick question.

"Well... uh... I..." Sam was not making eye contact. "I don't think it's a good idea."

Claire was not smirking. Really, she wasn't. "Why not? Maybe I think it is a good idea."

"Because he's only interested in getting you in bed!" Sam said, frowning deeply.

"And that's a problem?" Claire asked, still smirking.

Sam's eyes were the size of saucers. "You want to sleep with Logan?"

"What's the big deal?" Claire said. "It's not like I'm dating anyone right now."

"I thought you loved me!" Sam said.

"I never said I didn't, but you're the one who broke up with me," Claire pointed out. "So you don't get to tell me it's a bad idea if someone else wants to ask me out."
