Claire had been doing some thinking since the memorial service last night. She had lost people she wished she'd gotten a chance to know. Thelma could be added to that list of people.

She shook her head and tried to concentrate on reading a book. She didn't get very far.

Weevil wandered in, still in a daze.

"Hey," he said, slumping down onto his bed.

"Hey," Claire replied. She glanced at him curiously. "Everything okay?"

"My dead ex-girlfriend goes to school here now," Weevil said.

Claire blinked. Then there was the boggling. "Did you just say dead ex-girlfriend?"

"Yeah, that's what I said," Weevil replied. He was a little muffled as he buried his face into his pillow.

Claire? Still boggling. "But...how? Are you sure you weren't maybe dreaming?"

She'd seen a lot of impossible things, but a dead person walking around? That was new.

"She hugged me," Weevil said.

"Oh." Claire was now starting to wonder if this girl could regenerate.

"Yeah," Weevil said. "This place is not good for my head."

"I can understand why," Claire replied. "Weird things happen here a lot, don't they?"

"Yeah, they do," Weevil replied, unburying his face. "You just gotta roll with it."

"Yeah," Claire said quietly. She was kind of used to that. "What's her name?"

"Lilly Kane," Weevil said.

And yeah, if Claire looked at his arm, she'd see that name.

Claire did notice that name on his arm. "She must be very special."

"She was. Is. Whatever word I'm supposed to use, now," Weevil said. "This is so messed up."

"Do you know how this is happening?" Claire asked. "Like, is she alive...or a ghost or something?"
