Sitting down is no longer the most uncomfortable thing in the entire world, so I can finally sit properly and use both hands for the internets! What an amazing new world I've discovered!

True story from season 1 - Two of the Top 3 *hated* each other. Each of them thought the other was a complete hack who couldn't write. They just "couldn't understand" why people were voting for them, and were utterly convinced that it was a blind loyalty vote.

Since I knew them both and they were *saying these things to me* I had a different impression. Especially since I had talked to some of the voters who were just as sure that *their* favorite was talented and the other one was someone who was getting by sheer luck.

One thing I've picked up on my side of the trenches is that taste is going to vary significantly. Even among the closest of friends. I look at the votes of some of the people I have a very high regard due to their writing, and I wonder what sort of crack they are smoking, because clearly they have no taste! :P

I have thought it interesting when I've listened to people discussing that is was horrifying that people were talking about entries they didn't like, and discussing supporting each other - who then talk candidly about how "those people" need to be eliminated next! :)

People are funny creatures, and the more I see of them, the more I am convinced that they are going to act in funny, and highly personal ways!

I get it. I'd love to have a view from the top.

On the ground, we're literally trying to find logic and reason in cloud formations. You know they're too ephemeral and far away to provide a meaningful message, but then every once in a while they make a shape that you almost think was part of a logical sequence.
