LJ Idol - Week 14: Precognition

At stupid o'clock in the morning on a Friday in April of 2005, I slipped out of bed as quietly as I could and roused tartqueen from a brief and fitful night's sleep on the couch. I made coffee and filled as many thermoses as I could find because if there's one universal truth in this world, it's that hospital coffee is ( Read more... )

wonderful entry partner!

much like what happened to us, after all the labor, it turned out I had no choice with having a c-section. when they took him out the cord was wrapped around him twice, and while it wasn't cutting off his circulation, it had made it impossible for him come out naturally.

Thanks! You really put the pressure on this week! I was quite hoping to ride your coat-tails into next week without too much worry. :)

Very gripping tale. I'm sure the birth of my son couldn't be described so well by me!

Thanks. At the time I was writing about a lot of the milestones, including a much longer and more involved version of the birth that (I'm pretty sure) lacks mention of my fear.

It was actually kind of nice to finally get that out in the open as I don't think I've ever told (hardly) anyone about it.

You entry is lovely, but I have to draw particular attention to:

"At stupid o'clock in the morning on a Friday in April of 2005"

Best opening phrase EVER! Set a humorous tone that you shifted away from, but was totally appropriate in light of the happy ending.

Thank you kindly, good sir. Balancing the weight of the entry was one of a few challenges this time around.
