This is preliminary, as I'm somewhere between sobriety and tipsiness at the moment. Great ideas always seem greater with an elevated BAL, after all. Given that, this is not binding in any way. (Which is to say, "Dawny and TartQueen are going to yell at me when they see this and I need an exit.")
If I were to posit the very general rules of:
1. No Hard Shoes
2. No Headshots
3. No Nutshots
4. The Fight Ends when Someone Taps Out (or goes limp or whatever)
Would anyone be willing to buy some boxing gloves and come over for one or two Friday or Saturday nights a month?
(Provided boxing gloves, I'm willing to negotiate on #2 - heat of the moment and all.)
Competitive Fighting is something I've desperately wanted to get into for a pretty long time now. It's still something I want to do, eventually, but presently my back prevents me from doing it in a more serious manner.
Fearing that I might never get a chance to join a proper fighting gym, I'd like to explore options for getting a few blows in. I don't expect everyone to want to fight me, but I'd like to get a few (relatively friendly) fights in. To be honest, I don't even mind getting my ass handed to me, I just want to fucking fight once in a while. Which is why I didn't just adopt the "regulation" Fight Club rules which include the "two men to a fight" clause...
Is this something worth exploring with The Locals? It's the kind of thing that could easily be incorporated into a burning night and make fires happen more often. Or it could be something more along the lines of Adventure Tuesday! where a small group assembles on a regular basis. For fighting.
What say we? Anyone interested?
