The best friends
You might be sitting there at your computer thinking to yourself, "Man, I have the best friends in the world."
And they might be great, I'm not trying to diss them, really. (Yes, I said "diss.") I'm just sayin', if we're not talking about the same group of people, yours might not be the best friends. Because I'm pretty sure mine are.
I spent three days in the woods alone. Yay me!
I came home, and when I went upstairs I knew there was something different about my office. And I looked all around for a while and was all, like, "A-ha! That de Maupassant book is out of place! I shall fix this and everything shall be right again!" ("de Maupassant" is in my spell check???)
But it wasn't.
There was something else, I just knew it.
So I looked around some more with my keen eyes and razor-sharp memory and used all of my detective skills (learned by reading the very best Batman comics) to tried and puzzle out what had changed.
I found: The gaping (three-foot by four-foot?) hole in my wall from the bathroom project 2 1/2 years ago had been fixed. The walls and ceiling had been scraped and painted. The walls painted with a fancy-cool leather-like style, no less. New lights (and a ceiling fan and a wall switch!!!) had been installed. And my broken-ass stereo has been replaced with a sparkly new one. And there are new shelves (that have yet to be decided upon and installed).
That's it. I'm going camping alone more often.
What was easily (and unabashedly, really) the ugliest room in the house is now an amazing place of amazingness. And The Chair actually fits in now, like it belongs there!
Anyway, I wanted to wait until I could post about it properly with pitchurs and everything, but I didn't want any more time to pass before I said "Thank You!!" to the Home Improvement Conspiracy.
So now I have a long pitchur post about camping to make and a long pitchur post about my new office to make.
And all of my friends are Amazing. Piles of thanks to everyone who helped out.
