Room 422, Friday afternoon before the fashion show

Will took a deep breath to calm herself. The Superhero fashion show was this afternoon, and since this was the only way to change into her costume she might as well get it over with. Looking around one more time to double check that the door was shut, the blinds were closed and no one was around, she summoned the Heart of Candracar from her palm

Teddy stopped by the room to change for the fashion show as well.

"Wow, you have wings."

Will looked up from looking through the closet at the sound of someone else's voice. "Hey Teddy!"

She look over her shoulder. Still fwipping right along. "Oh. Yeah. They don't actually do anything."

Other than twitch it would seem.

"Then why are they there?"

She thought about it for a minute, and couldn't come up with an answer that didn't involve crazy Italian artists.

"I'm not really sure. They just came with the costume. I didn't actually design this."

Teddy fought the urge to poke at the wings, instead turning toward his own closet to grab his outfit.

"You didn't?

The delicate wings just kept on waving back and forth. It was almost like they had a mind of their own.

"Would you believe me if I told you that a ninja who became a bald monk who lives in a castle in the clouds somewhere near the center of the universe did?"

Teddy paused to consider that. "Well, would you believe me if I said something like that sounds pretty damn plausible?" Then added, "Considering the weird stuff that happens on a regular basis around here."

"Oh good," she said, smiling. "I suppose that would fit in around here. And at least he gave me a good outfit, at least. One of my friends ended up with a hotpants and tights combo."

Teddy winced in sympathy. Hot pants were evil, evil things.

"So a magical ninja picked your outfits, huh?"

[notawitch]

"Used to be a ninja. He's a monk now known as The Oracle. But, yeah, he did. I guess there's a tradition of picking five girls whose initials spell something every couple of generations, and providing the outfits and wings."

She took one more look through her closet and frowned. "Do you have a jacket or something I could borrow? I don't really want everyone to see me like this until the fashion show."

"That's not weird at all," Teddy replied, digging through his closet for a jacket. Luckily he had quite a few. He liked jackets, so sue him. "Here," he handed over his white one. "Won't your wing-tings get crushed if you wear one?"

"No, they seem to fold up if I put something on on top. I have no idea why they're even part of the costume at all."

She took Teddy's jacket, and carefully slipped it on over her guardian outfit. "So, whadda you think?" she asked.

"You look good. It's not as cool as my outfit, of course," he teased.

And that was only because he was leaving that damn scarf in the closet. Where it belonged.

She stuck out her tongue to give a raspberry in his general direction."

"Oh? You're not wearing that little ascot with it? The audience will be so disappointed."

"We will never speak of the ascot again. It doesn't exist." Teddy took off his shirt and put on the top part of his costume. "Stupid Kate," he muttered under his breath.

"You say that now, but one day that ascot is going to come back and try to kill you or take over the world because you shunned it," she warned, trying to find the best way to do up the jacket without looking too obvious about it.
