I have witnessed two curses since arriving, and have not been affected by either. I preferred the circus curse to the previous one; the only pair of boots I have been able to afford in this City were vandalised. Also, others were acting strangely.

I have several questions, relating to my universe of origin:

1) What is decimation ( Read more... )

Are you sure you really want to know the answers? Neither were good things.

Kate made a similar comment. If I did not want to know, I would not have asked.

I do not like being uninformed, in any matters.

Okay...

The Decimation was the depowering of the majority of mutants. You return to the X-Men at that point. We lost almost all of the students there and our numbers as mutants were reduced to somewhere around 200. Some of the depowered students were on a bus getting ready to go home when it was bombed by an anti-mutant group and some of them were killed.

Everything gets worse from there. It gets much harder for mutants, harder then it's ever been really.

The Registration Act was an attempt to get superhero's to register in order to be superhero's. Tony Stark as mentioned above was one of the main supporters in the superhero community but there were others. As X-Men we took a mostly neutral stance on it.

How were so many mutants depowered?

That's a really complicated answer, but the short version is that a mutant with the ability to warp reality created a world where mutants were above humans and gave people I guess what they thought they wanted. When people were awakened and realized that the world wasn't right there was a big battle and the new reality came crashing down and went back to normal. However the mutant who warped reality ended up also causing mutants to loose their powers.

Ah.

Then I am glad I have been brought to this City.

You are one of the mutants who keeps their powers, along with Julian, Logan, Rachel, me, and the rest of the main X-Men group.

That is good.

I would have difficulty supporting my arms and feet, if my X-gene were deactivated.

I know...that was the fear with Logan too. Actually with him it was more that he just might die. But I guess for once we were the lucky ones.

Yes. I could have my claws removed, but Logan could not have his entire skeleton removed.

No he couldn't. It could have gone really bad for quite a few mutants to have had their powers removed, I could have had mine gone while walking through something and become stuck. Still watching the other's was horrible enough.

It is good that you are safe.

Thank you. I'm sorry to have to tell you about it though, it sucks for everyone and learning things before they happen can be upsetting.

It's fine. I am the one who asked.

I would rather stay here.

Truthfully me too. The curses can be annoying but at least we don't have Sentinels following us everywhere, people hating us more, and a world full of chaos.

All that has happened to me here is having paint thrown over my feet. While that was strange, I faced no actual threat.

It is much better.
