It's sort of like a fancy, wooden frame for a stage. It looks like this. But I only need a simple one. It's for one musical production, so it won't be permanent. We could do it together?
That is, if you don't mind building with a bloke who now looks about 16.
How heavy are the curtains that are going up? Will the frame need to be curved or straight? Do you know what kind of wood it will need to be made out of? Will any of the wood be visible? What kind of support will it attach to? It would be best to attach it to the ceiling, of course, but I don't know what your roof structure is like, and I have a hard time visualizing your place without being in it.
Not very heavy. About twenty five ounces. A straight frame would look better with my stage, I think. Light wood, like cedar would be good. ...Visable is fine. I kind of like the "hey, let's put on a show" look. Yeah, the ceiling above the front of the stage, so that it's like a frame around the stage.
Want to come visit the restaurant and check it out?
Yeah, I'll come by sometime this week. Cedar would be good. You got a pulley system in mind to draw the curtains? How's your lighting, does that need a framework built too?
Pulley would be perfect. The production team is really interested in a kind of "thown together", indie set up, so we don't even need to worry too much about it looking like a Broadway show or anything. Which is good.
...Oh yeah, lights. Yeah. Maybe some pipework? Frames of pipes, like you'd find in a black box theatre. The good thing is that the club is pretty much set up like a black box anyway. That's what I was going for.

Sweet-as. Thanks, mate. Oh yes, I've got it all set in a budget.
