[Kaoru was hurrying around the apartment. She got dressed in a comfortable kimono, threw her hair back in a ribbon, and left a note for Kenshin saying that she would be out shopping with Megumi-san. [There was much to buy on her list today, and Megumi was quite eager to go shopping with Kaoru-san. Her special day with Mitsuhide was fast approaching, and she wanted it to be absolutely perfect for her husband! A night of seeing to his happiness and his pleasure! ♥ And for that, she needed a few things~!]

[A giggle escaped her.]

[She was just slipping her list into her purse when she heard Kaoru-san knock on the door.]

[Slipping into her geta, she opened the door for the younger girl, giving her a smile.]

And good morning to you. Ready to go shopping~?

[Megumi-san looked excited, and she let herself smile.]

Good morning. I'm definitely ready. Do you know where you want to go first?

[She hadn't really gone into any of the "modern" clothing shops, and was quite clueless about the whole thing. However, she was sure that Megumi-san would fix that right away.]

I really don't know that much about, er, modern clothing...

[She wasn't going to be embarrassed. She wasn't going to be embarrassed. She wasn't going to be embarrassed.]

[Megumi closed the door behind her, allowing herself to walk with Kaoru-san towards the elevator.]

Well, I have quite a few things to buy . . . candles, chocolate, and fruit, for starters . . . But . . . let's start with the lighter packages first, mmm? That way, we won't have to lug heavier items around the City . . .

Modern clothing should be first on that list, ne? Especially as what we're planning to buy should be light, delicate things . . .

[She laughed mischievously, her fox ears peeking from beneath her dark hair. Kaoru-san somehow looked sheepish, which amused the older woman.]

[Kaoru hit the button for the elevator, and down they went. There was no going back now.]

Really? Those sort of things, um...help to make him happy?

[She was trying her hardest not to blush.]

That sounds like a good plan...

[The clothing part. That was what she was most nervous about. She had seen the way some people dressed, and it just baffled her.]

So they actually make special clothing just to, er, that is...make our men happy?

[Megumi gave Kaoru-san an innocent look.]

Of course! Dessert by candlelight is very romantic!

[And, of course, what came after or during said dessert by candlelight was always very, very nice indeed! ♥]

[She stifled a giggle, remembering how many such blissful moments she has shared with Mitsuhide, playing with any of the possible combinations of fruit, cream, and chocolate.]

[And with what she had in mind for the 20th . . . She was certain that her beloved would truly enjoy his dessert~! ♥]

Well, I first came across the idea of such . . . clothing before the wedding. Sarah-san mentioned to me that I should have something pretty and elegant to wear for Mitsuhide after the ceremony, and so, she took me shopping. Some choices are rather . . . gaudy. Others are quite lovely, though!

[She giggled, stepping out of the elevator as they reached the ground floor.]

They're made to show off a woman's body very nicely!

[She knew better than to believe that innocent look.]

Oh? That was very kind of her.

[Kaoru was already trying to imagine what she could wear for Kenshin. What would he like? She would have to find something really nice.]

[She stepped out of the elevator with her friend, following her into the city.]

Do you already have something in mind?

[The weather was warm and balmy--a good day to walk around the City. The trip to the stores would not take too long, and Megumi kept a sedate pace, allowing the two women to talk about their exciting plans.]

Mmm . . . considering what I have in mind for the special occasion . . .

[She giggled, her fox ears quivering.]

Something in silk, I think . . . that's nice to touch . . . and lace! Ohohohoho~!

What about you?

[Megumi arched a brow, smiling at Kaoru-san with a teasing glint in her eyes.]

Any ideas as to what attire will make Ken-san's jaw drop tomorrow?

[Kaoru thought about that for a moment. What did she want to get? What would she look good in?]

Silk or lace sounds nice. Though I want blue.

[She paused.]

Definitely blue. And maybe...

[Her hand went up subconsciously to touch her hair.]

A new hair ribbon.

Ah, yes, I think blue would suit you. Though you'd look good in a certain shade of yellow as well . . . Maybe cotton for you?

[She could already see the shops in the distance, and she giggled, excitement once again flooding her.]

[When Kaoru-san mentioned the ribbon, Megumi arched a brow. It was already public knowledge that Ken-san had a fetish for his wife's hair ribbons . . .]

Have you let Ken-san show how creative he can be with those ribbons?

[Another foxy laugh.]

Yellow is nice, but blue is better! I'll look at cotton as well.

[Kaoru could see the shops in the distance as well, and she felt nervous. Over and over she told herself to stop being embarrassed.]

[...The fact that it was public knowledge still pissed her off, but that had happened a while ago. It could have been worse.]

...Maaaybe~

[She laughed as well.]

[Again, Megumi arched her brow, this time giving Kaoru-san a thoughtful smile. Kaoru-san had grown--there was once a time that she would have thrown a fit and gone into hysterics if Megumi had even joked at anything remotely sexual between the younger girl and Ken-san. Yes . . . she was no longer the naive girl who would've let the man she loves walk away from her. Now, Kaoru-san embraced her marital life with Ken-san, and Megumi couldn't help but be proud.]

Well, I'm sure he'll have a thrill that you're buying clothing to make him happy!

[Another laugh.]

[Finally, they reached the stores. Megumi searched for a lingerie and hoisery store that seemed to display tasteful and elegant items. Satisfied with one, she nodded at Kaoru-san, beckoning her inside with a sly smile.]

Take a deep breath, because it's time to choose.

[Kaoru was also proud of herself. It had taken a lot to get to where she was today, and she had done it.]

Well, I would certainly hope so! After all I'm going to all this trouble...

[Though some things never changed~]

[When they reached the stores, she was already shocked by what she saw displayed in the windows. But that wasn't going to stop her! Their seven month anniversary would be special.]

Well, let's get going then!

[She marched inside.]

[A laugh, and Megumi headed straight for the blue lingerie. There were lovely items to choose from, some in satin and silk, others in cotton and lace.]

[She held one up that was very short, and rather frilly, with a big ribbon around the waist. Overall, cute . . . if not too saccharine, and a tad too horrifyingly poofy.]

[Laughing slyly, she held it up to Kaoru-san's form.]

This should give you a little more curves.

Me first? If you're sure...

[She eyed the blue lingerie with interest. There were definitely some very pretty ones there, but it was hard imagining herself in any of it.]

[When she saw the one Megumi-san held up for her, she made a face.]

No. And, I have enough curves, thank you very much.

[She then went through them herself, pulling out an overly tacky baby blue one with a large hideous cloth rose.]

What about this one?

You certainly aren't as bad as Misao-chan, though you are rather stocky . . .

[She sighed, tucking that one away and looking at the one Kaoru-san had selected. It was terrible.]

Unless you want Ken-san looking at that rather than you, and in horror, I suggest you select something else. The flower will divert his attention from the flower he's supposed to be paying attention to.

[Another arch of her brow, and she went to choose more pieces.]

[She held up a flimsy strip of baby blue cloth. It was very sheer, hardly concealing anything at all.]

[Though rather than being actually annoyed, it was more of a sisterly sort of bickering.]

[At Megumi-san's comment on the one she had picked, she frowned.]

...I didn't think it was that bad...

[She stuffed it back on the rack, shuffling through a few more before glancing back up at the next one her friend had selected. It was definitely pretty, but...]

Um...I don't think I'm ready for something so revealing.

[She hoped she wasn't sounding too picky.]
