Aaah, I see. Then it would be a little confusing. But yes, that is the official reason to celebrate it. Except instead of giving presents to God's son, you give them to your friends and family.

That makes sense, then. I like the idea of the holiday, and being giving things to friends and family. It's not a bad idea.
