A friend of mine did this on his LJ, and it amused me (and I'm literally sitting around doing nothing right now), so I figured I would do it as well. The trick is to put one's music player on shuffle, then respond to the following questions with whichever title appears next. Here it goes:
I realize that this reveals me for being a shallow poo head with very little to do, but right now, I don't care. If I change my mind, I'll erase this post.
How am I feeling today?
"Nanny Nanny Boo Boo" by Le Tigre. This is highly ironic since I woke up at 10, then proceeded to read until 11:30, when I ate breakfast/lunch, then went online. Overall, a pretty good goof off day.
Will I get far in life?
"Glass House" by Ani Difranco. This does not bode well.
How do my friends see me?
"Little Lotte/The Mirror Scene" from Phantom of the Opera. I have absolutely no idea what this would imply except that my friends view me as a mysterious musician who turns out to be a psycho stalker later? That would be difficult because I'm not a musician...
Where will I get married?
"Romeo and Juliet" sung by Indigo Girls. On first glance, this seems ok, but then listening to the song, one realizes that its about Romeo being sad because Juliet dumped him. Not good. That is, assuming one believes one's music playlist which answers arbitrary questions, of course. Also, this completely dodges the question of where.
What is my best friend's theme song?
"La Vie en Rose" by Edith Piaf ....no
What is the story of my life?
"All if Full of Love" by Bjork. This irony of this is currently overpowering me.
What was high school like?
"Overture" from Phantom of the Opera. ? I guess my high school experience was a preview for the rest of my life...just like everyone else's.
How can I get ahead in life?
"Masquerade/ Why so Silent" from Phantom of the Opera. Ok, no.
What is the best thing about me?
"Oedipus" by Regina Spektor. I do not have an oedipus complex, so this is rather confusing.
What was today like?
"Trouble Every Day" by Frank Zappa. See above for how my day has gone.
What is in store for this weekend?
"Never is a Promise" by Fiona Apple. This is the busiest weekend I've had in a while, so I don't know what this is about.
What song describes my parents?
"Deceptaton" by Le Tigre. Well, my parents do shout a lot...
How is my life going?
"The Arrival's Gate" by Ani Difranco. That means creepy.
What song will they play at my funeral?
"Tangled Up in Blue" sung by Indigo Girls. I actually would be ok with this song at my funeral. I think its pretty, and it celebrates life, something I definately want done at my funeral.
How does the world see me?
"Cars and Guitars" by Tori Amos. Um, not really.
Will I have a happy life?
"Dog Coffee" by Ani Difranco. ie, probably not. Rather, if this prediction holds, I will be a bitter, cynical person bent on ranting on the further takeovers of multinational corporations.
What do my friends really think of me?
"Birdhouse in your Soul" by They Might Be Giants. Hehe
Do people secretly lust after me?
"Wish I may" by Ani Difranco. Enough said.
How can I make myself happy?
"Love Ridden" by Fiona Apple...no
What should I do with my life?
"Every Angle" by Ani Difranco. Exactly, examine it.
What will my children be like?
"Shame on you" by Indigo Girls. Uh oh.
What will I name them?
"General Joy" by Tori Amos...?
What will the person I marry be like?
"Ta P'tite Flamme" by Amelie Les Crayons. That's neat because it means romantic. I love the line where it says (in french) "I see the small flame in your eye and I feel the best" (it sounds a lot better in french)
Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend?
"Glory Days" by Bruce Springsteen. ie, no
Will I have a fulfilling life?
"32 Flavors" by Ani Difranco. I like this idea, since that song is one of the most empowering songs one can sing.
How will I die?
"Blue" by Joni Mitchell. Alright, this is finished, thank god.
