[A → Action; 340 Brady Lane: Early Morning]

[There's a lot of things wrong with this morning. A lot of things wrong. For one, this isn't his bed. He knows this because he's had his bed for how long? Anyways, this isn't his bed. Second, last time he checked, he had some dashing and lovely scars to go with his whole vigilante image. Now how in the ( Read more... )

[ Sleeping next to the drone wasn't nearly as bad as sleeping by Reaver. Then again, it seems the two rarely spent a minute in the same house at the same time (and sometimes she would just crash outside on the porch or on the couch in the living room anyhow).

Meiling rolls over onto the newly-vacated spot, murmuring something about how warm it was and how it was too early and that she wasn't going to let him destroy the mansion.

--this is perfectly normal sleep talk. Hush. ]

[Well sleeping with Dick means probably cuddling. A lot of it from him. But he rather give the bed to you then make you sleep on the porch or couch. And his sleeping hours are pretty questionable as is.]

...Destroy the what?

[He's still on the floor, eyebrow raised.] Hey...[Does he really want to wake her up?]

[ The haze is lifting from her mind as she stirs, finally turning over onto her back to stretch. ] --sound funny. Sore throat? [ It's mostly mumbled, but she is wondering why the drone sounds different this morning. ]

My throat is fin-did you say I sound funny? [He probably should assume that she just doesn't recognize his voice at all. Still, he raises an eyebrow at his suddenly appointed wife.]

[ Meiling sits up and yawns big, before turning to face the voice. ] Okay, okay, I can make some tea with honey, but then I'm go--

[ Oh hang on. Who's this? She blinks down at him, scooting over to the edge of the bed to get a better look. ] Huh?

[ Then she reaches to grab his shoulders and hoist him up to eye level (surprisingly easy for her, if he doesn't dodge). ] --how did you get in here? [ For someone who should be screaming, or at least a little indignant, she sounds surprisingly drowsy calm about all this. ]

[He let's her pull him up to eye level. He's a little surprised she can with just waking up, but not a problem.] I woke up in bed here...? I don't know how I got in here. [Hi. This is your new husband. He's not a drone and very much alive.]

Huh? But you're not-- [ She rises to her feet (yes, on the bed) and looks to the dresser. Sure enough, all the photos that were of her and Reaver, or her and the "family" all have him inserted in there as if he's always been there.

This was new. ] Oh. [ Meiling lowers him and flops down onto the edge of the bed, cross-legged. ] You're new. [ Duh. ]

Not what? I'm guessing someone else used to sleep in this bed? [He glances at the dresser. That's...peculiar. There's photos of him in these family portraits. That's a little unsettling.]

Yes I am. I think we established that earlier. [He laughs a bit.]

You're right. [ Meiling rubbed the sleep from her eyes. ] Sorry about that. I didn't expect this -- though I guess it makes sense for them to replace a drone eventually, just how I replaced the drone mother of the house a few months ago.

[ She extends a hand. ] I'm Meiling.

That's fine. I'm pretty sure normal people don't usually expect to wake up next to strangers. I sure as heck didn't. But, I'm kind of glad I'm waking up next to a person and not...a drone. [Because he's going to find out quickly how creepy they are.]

[He shakes her hand.] Dick Grayson.

[ At that, she laughs. ] Yeah, it was pretty surprising for me, too, when I first arrived.

It's nice to meet you. [ Giving him a firm shake. ] I guess we'll be cooperating from now on. [ Or so she hoped. ]

I bet. I guess it's just our introduction to this place. [Wherever here is.]

Of course. I mean, if we're going to be stuck as housemates, why make enemies? And all the help we can offer would be better then going at each other. [Look! They're already buddies!]

[ A big grin. ] I like the way you think. As long as you don't have any weird habits, or go around indulging in the town's murderous schemes, I think we'll get along great. [ Blunt? Why not! ]

I might have a stranger sleeping schedule, but it wouldn't directly affect you I'm sure. But I don't think I have any weird habits that would be questionable, and I'm against killing. [Laughs.]
