[28] Port: Is there anywhere better than Salem in October?

Okay, so let's see. So far this port there have been no maniacal dictators, no zombies, no torturous ghosts and no mobbing townspeople. We haven't had any magic spells turning us into other people, giving us false memories or switching our genders. That makes this the first actual as-advertised port I've been to since I came here

Can I just say how thrilled I am that nobody's tried to kill me yet? I've actually been able to keep my Halloween costume on instead of my work one.

I went with a sexy cop costume. With some added leggings and a warm jacket, I manage to not look like a slut!

[Laughs] It is ridiculously hard to find adult-sized costumes that aren't totally slutty. I'm planning to window shop today and see what I can find.

Ugh, I know right? Clearly the costume industry is run by men. And yet, women still buy the costumes... But whatever. Any thoughts on your own costume?

I know, right? And I don't buy into that whole "women should feel confident in their bodies blah blah blah" bullshit, either. ...Granted, my uniform was basically a glorified cheerleader outfit, but at least I can blame my mother for that.

I'm not sure yet! I'm planning to window shop. Something fun, though!

The only skin I show is on my face, thankyouverymuch. Then again, that may just be a bat thing.

I could maybe see you as a bumblebee... or a butterfly, even. Might be cute.

It's the smarter thing. I mean, if I'd been covered up more, I could have avoided a lot of injuries. But, you know. Young and silly and crazy mother.

...Maybe if I was nine instead of nineteen. [Grin.] I don't know, I might go for a witch or something. Classic and classy?

Honestly, you should see the bumblebee costumes out there. I hate to say it, but they're kind of cute. Even if they could use a few extra inches on the bottom. If I had more time, I'd offer to make you a costume. I'm not a bad hand with a sewing machine.

I could see a witch... and if none of the costumes are to your liking, you can always just go out and buy a black dress. Easy to pull off.

Sewing is one skill I never managed to learn. Seems like it'd be pretty handy, though.

You could probably get away without the facepaint...
