[Cissie... is just tired. Assuming her item let her know that Beatty was gone, and when she went to look, she found his room re-set. She then proceeded to go pound the daylights out of some punching bags in the gym, so feel free to assume if your character was in the gym tonight, they probably saw some impressive anger/abandonment issues being ( Read more... )

...What?

I need to have a word with my inmate, clearly.

Er. How are you?

Yeah. I'm... pretty pissed, actually. I just found out, and then he vanished. He said he did it because he was bored and because I believed him, and then he confessed because he was bored and he wanted me to find out on his terms. I am honestly just so mad, Una.

God, what a spiteful old bastard. I don't blame you for being angry.

Of course, this now calls into question much of what O'Brien may or may not have known, considering their closeness.

My thoughts exactly. I feel like the last six months have been a complete waste. I know it's not entirely true, but...

That was my thinking. I... still don't know. But here, you can see what he said to me about it.

Hm. It's a reasonable argument he makes, of course. But I really should talk to him about this myself.

I've never had an imnate vanish out from under me, myself-O'Brien is the only one I've ever had. But I've seen it happen to others plenty of times-I think my friend Sexby has had at least two. You're not to blame, of course, but it's hard not to feel a certain sense of inadequacy.

You know him better than I do, and maybe talking to him in person is better for this. Just--good luck.

Inadequate is one word for it. Taken advantage of, used. I feel like he got what he wanted after all.

Thank you. I shall let you know if I learn anything of interest.

Sometimes I think the Admiral is being overly optimistic with the people he takes on board, Beatty being a case in point. It's no reflection on you.
