New month, new adventures

Today's been the biggest rollercoaster of emotion, I can hardly believe it. But, then again, it's because of Pace so I shouldn't be surprised.

I got a call around 5;30 last night from Financial Aid (no name!) that my loan couldn't be certified because it was still pending approval; however, my mom said that it had been approved earlier in the week, so I figured they jsut weren't up to date (THAT would be a shock). I called as soon as I sat down at my desk and the line was busy. I called back LITERALLY every 3-4 minutes until 11 before I get through. Then I'm on hold for 40 minutes. Great. But the woman, who def wasn't was nice as the other two, said that the loan was still pending. Grrr. But she gave me the name of my loan counselor, Tammy Tucker (who from this day forward will be my close personal, for lack of a better word, friend for a while) and said she's look into it. Sooooo I call Citibank just to confirm that I'm approved. But of course i'm NOT. WHAAAAAA? Apparently it's a conditional approval pending some information about my cosigner. Oh Mumu. I find out what's missing and call her in tears b/c it'll take 5-7 days to process the info once it's submitted and Pace & the Housing Nazis won't let me move in unless I have a zero balance. Even if I have a signed statement from Citibank. Or, ya know, the usual promissory note of my firstborn child written in blood. So at this point I'm totally losing it. I even tried to calm myself by thinking that I could live with Mike till the loan's approved. A week or 2 would be pretty easy. But ALL HAIL my amazing Mom, my hero and lifesaver! She put the rest of my balance (which isn't just a pittance, let me tell you) on her credit card and paid online! I was in shock when she suggested it. Granted, of course, she's gonna get all that back when my loan goes through, but still. That's a LOT of money to put on a card last minute. So luckily the payment showed up right away online and I printed out my account summary. But just in case I'm still going in early to check that everything's cool. Hopefully I can just ask the RAs in Brooklyn w/o having to go to Pace. **Fingers crossed**

I talked to Kristin for about 2 minutes online, and she said she didn't have a $0 balance yet. Oh I hope it gets worked out soon! I hope we can all move in without problem. Mike's helping me move in too, so you all get to meet him "formally." I also hope it doesn't rain Sunday morning! Last Sunday we helped Mike's brother move into his NYU dorm (which is just sick; it makes me SO jealous!) and it rained the whooooole day. I just worry about the mesh laundry bags full of my clothes...looks like I'll be grabbing some trash bags before we leave. Joy.

*Sigh* So only 30 MINUTES until FREEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!! This job turned out to be kinda nice after the initial freak out. When the VP called this afternoon and spoke to my supervisor he told him to make me an offer (of a full-time job, not anything that would result in a sexual harrassment suit). Chris (supervisor) said he already tried, and that I was not only pleasant on the phone but bright too. Now THAT's a rewarding job (since I'm not getting a monetary bonus). It's a nice feeling to be appreciated. It also makes me laugh b/c I spent about an hour doing work yesterday; the rest of the time was spent on www.mugglenet.com. Obvi my HP obsession is growing. 10 months till Book 7!!!
