slacking off at work
You know a job is a waste of time when people tell you to fuck around on the internet for a while, just to pass the time. That's this job...the past 5 days of it. Not that I should be complaining, seeing as I'm getting paid the entire freakin time and get all the free coffee and cold drinks i want.....but, again, waste of my precious time. To get here at 9 I gotta get up at 6, catch the train at 7:14, and take the 6 one stop. Which means that i get here with 15-20 minutes to spare before the receptionist gets here to let me in. That's the problem with these short-term assignments, you never have real access to the building. If I wanna be I gotta take a key and get buzzed back into the office. I just have to remind myself that not all my jobs are gonna be this easy or laid back. I should enjoy this. The rest of today (my last here) will be spent filing! That may or may not last 3 hours, and I hope it doesn't because at this point if I finish before 6 they'll probably let me go. I have a shopping itch that needs to get scratched. Ironically enough I can't, and not because of a lack of funds either. I "lost" my bank card somewhere in my house while I was away. Meaning, while my mom decided to rearrange almost all my shit for no apparent reason, the card got up and walked away. And i still haven't received a new one, so i'm on my ostensibly broke own for a bit. Hopefully it comes soon or else I'm gonna have to bum some cash off my parents (once again) to get a train to the city later this week. That's the most expensive part: the fuckin train. I mean, i know i live a good hour outside the city and all, but, c'mon $23 for a round-trip peak ticket??
Anyway, enough bitching about everything. Last weekend I went to see my favorite jersey girl in Hoboken and had an awesome time! Still don't like the PATH train though; I ended up in Newark...a place I never want to be! We saw and awesome band at Whiskey Bar and got so trashed. Love it! It was SO GOOD to see one of my best friends again! I can't wait to see you other bitches soon!! People must have thought we were crazy drunk, hugging in the bar like that. We ended up crashing at her friend's place and Debbie picked us up around 11 to get bagels...i missed bagels!! I love hanging out with the Cassidys...always a good time, even though we were hung-over and only slept about 5 hours. On the way home I stopped in the city to see Mike for a couple hours. Oh how I love him! He's actually coming home to meet my parents this weekend...uh-oh! My mom is oddly cool about the whole thing (part of me thinks she's just relieved that I'm dating a guy!), she didn't really grill me about him, and doesn't even have a problem with him spending the night in my bed while he's there. Rudy, on the other hand, is against that idea, asks me way too many questions, and keeps joking about how he needs to clean his gun. I don't think I'm nervous exactly, but maybe just jittery. I mean, Mike is pretty comfortable in a lot of situations and isn't nervous (so he says). And I love the way my parents are together...it's weird if you're not used to it maybe, but I think they're hilarious.
God, where is this receptionist! I know she's depositing checks, but man I gotta pee so bad, and he break was over 11 minutes ago! Just have to not think about it. At least this is passing the time! Though I should be updating my resume and working on my grad essay, etc. But of course I'm now gonna save that for tomorrow. OH! I can't wait to sleep in!!!
