Oh grand expanse of glorious night!
How from the heavens you weave and wrap,
And join the world of men,
To donate cool air and stars for soul's betterment.
Oh grand expanse of glorious night!
Spurning forth from purple dusk to dawn's orange,
And stripping clear the sea's reflection;
The false comfort of the day.
And in dearest truth night tells us,
(with clear sight of all the heavens),
This is your cosmos, man. Know your place.
