Jessica Drew
Bubbling away with plot, positively bubbling. Obviously, went down to Rapture, spider-spliced herself, then got herself blown up fighting Big Daddies, now recovering from a punctured lung and a hefty dose of sadness and guilt over not managing to save anyone, which she's covering, with the odd exception, through the usual mechanisms. Coming up, there's a plot with Bones in the lab where she'll be able to get her science on to actual productive outcomes. Then in December probably Chase is going to go a little supervillain and she's going to have to Spider-Woman his ass back in line. So that's one instance of the secret identity coming out, I'd like maybe a couple more but it's hard to manage; it'll be interesting, actually, to see how the subject is treated in the Ultimates.
Which comes out this week! It is written by Jonathan Hickman, I am looking forward to it a lot, even if suddenly I'm in the position of being potentially jossed on stuff. I honestly did not expect her to end up in an ongoing so I made some calls I might have held off on otherwise. I mean, she might not even be in this first issue, I don't know if she'll be mostly supporting or what, just that she's on the squad. So we'll see if that means the public revelation of her identity (the Ultimates are generally in the open as far as identities). Not that would mean she would on the island, where she has Peter's secret to protect as well, and, as the post-injury fallout is revealing, more people than she does back home. If supervillains show up, she has people she doesn't want them going after.
Which makes things a bit tricky, such as not being able to bid on Black Widow's lessons because if she publicly wins combat lessons that points at Spider-Woman, etc., not that she'd want to take them away from Olive anyway because that is awesome, that is a great thing to be happening. Possibly she's going to get lessons from Bucky; she will, soon, at any rate, try to get lessons from someone, she recognizes a need for better combat training.
Items: One that's traumatic for both her and Peter is set, but probably not until next year, meaning I have one to spare. I might have her wake up (somewhere, preferably public, for threading) in full SHIELD uniform, so she can find out she's, you know, an agent of SHIELD in her future. Have to consider if it comes with a gun or gadgets or what. An ID, at any rate.
Powers plot: You better believe it. So many gorgeous possibilities.
Tony Stark
Ended up on the backburner amoungst Rapture-stuff, because Jess was the priority and I had limited time; this is okay. He's sort of oddly placed, in that for all his gregariousness and charm he is kind of a hermit inventor at times. At any rate, the public side of his workings are going to swing back around, soon, with a smaller-scale plot featuring Peter, Chase, and linking in with Jane F., Belle and Fred (and maybe Walter?) which should be tremendous fun, and begins set up for the League of Action Scientists (it'll have a different name).
Following that... when does the next school term start? Because he's going to teach, if he can get some new classes on the curriculum. Must email someone about this. He may also run for council, if someone mentions or nominates him. Mostly because I really, really want to write the speech I have in mind. If not this election, definitely the next, but it could be this one.
And for January, I have a larger scale plot in mind that I should submit soon, because January-plot should be a tradition (Osborn, the space station... and if you go back, the Faramir mess. I feel like I'm missing one, too?), I would like this. It will be... fun. Still gotta work out the climax, but I have the shape of it worked out. Insert evil laugh here.
Items: Maybe? I think I've given him, like... one. I should keep better track of this. ANITA OR NIX HOW MANY ITEMS HAVE I GIVEN HIM. Wait, right, the box of his daddy's stuff. Other than that, hmm. A Jericho weapons platform would be hilarious and helpful, since those things are full of repulsors and tech. (Which reminds me I also need to submit projects, including the hoverbike built out of goblin glider parts.) Or Dummy and Useless, his robots, precious. Dope can hang with them.
Powers plot: Oh my, yes. Oh yes.
Arya Stark
I can't find gifs of Meredith Salenger as easy, okay.
Kind of in an institial place at the moment, because Jon's arrived but we haven't threaded that meeting because of timezones and people being on hiatuses, but I can sort of guess at her state of mind enough to do things, I think. She has this thing in canon where she just does not go back and she does not take being left -- even when you can't really pin it on the person -- well, either. In Braavos she has the option to go back, try for reunions and she's just like, "No, I just came from there," and the attitude kind of goes in general. So it's more of the Lone Wolf Lives deal, where she'll distance herself and generally try to avoid falling back into old attachments and dynamics. Basically, no super close relationships, all is surface, or... so she tells herself, she is a liar, to herself as well.
Sadtimes. Will probably hit up the rave for some terrible decisions time! Everyone loves terrible decisions time! People help the bad decisions train along, Cook if he's there, other similar minds, you know who you are.
Items: Boy, am I glad I didn't give her that one I was thinking of, because I would've got super-jossed! I can still do it, just it'd be less of a thing than I thought it would be.
Powers plot: Maybe, depends how I am for time. Low priority on that one.
Spike Spiegel
Needs some plot, needs me to do more, this guy. Thought about signing him up for piracy, but he already did the boat thing, probably won't again. The trouble is for all that he's got distance on canon he hasn't had forward motion so much as sideways motion, he's drifted out of the life he had but not into anything, really, so he's still in that state of not being able to get into the relationships and pseudo-family he should. He'd like to sort things out with Faye and even have Ed and the bloody dog hang around -- without ever admitting it -- but the problem is this isn't exactly a state of affairs he can arrange without admitting something of the like, and his anti-these things position is awfully strange. I mean, I go on the mention near the end to Jet where he's like 'I told you so, now you're sad, this is what you get,' that indicates it wasn't just aggravation he was afraid of/against.
Not that that's not a factor, he is a complicated man.
The Real Timeloop Blues may be the answer. Last episode (or episodes), repeated until he gets the lesson, traumatic for everyone, good times.
Items: Eh. Timeloop!
Powers plot: Doubt it. More fun to have everyone else going nuts, this is generally my policy with Spike and crackplots.
William de Worde
And this guy used to be my primary pup. How times change! Not really at risk, but I do need to play him more, get him interviewing folks about the nutty plots that go down all the time, and generally poke his noses into business. Also do things with his adorable daughter who is adorable and will be two next February. Talking more, walking, getting towards the super energetic stage of always on unless sleeping.
No items planned, probably no powers.
Wolverine
Dude needs to cut something up. Failing that, time to organize a bar brawl, I am sure there would be takers. He's so... taciturn, and sort of crawling out of his skin, because most of the time his life is peaceful, now, and he doesn't feel he deserves that, it's the canon explanation given for his being on All The Teams. Spending every day of the week saving people and helping the X-Men not kill people (by killing them first) isn't enough to atone, but it's all he's got, et cetera. And now he doesn't have that. He's a lot on edge, I could do more with that.
Yeah, definitely needs a fight. Also needs to do some righteous beating, not necessarily as the same thing, but some kind of X-Men thing. Or even just a personal one, he does those a lot, but with X-Men about, why not an X-Men thing.
Item: He could just have SO MANY. Maybe the original Weapon X mask and such, cue him flipping out with it on, raging Wolverine for people to have to stop/snap out of it.
Powers plot: If I have time, yes, hopefully so.
Drops and Future
Keith Mars is for the chopping block once Kat's mojoed up and back in action, it is set. It is sad, but I'd been playing him as a plot facilitator and neglecting his personal/emotional dynamics, rendering me unable to adjust to new status quo, oh well, it was a good run. I will miss the IPD stuff a lot.
And once that's done, I need to get my reqs in order to app in December. Was thinking about a character, and then the narrative style clicked into place in my head, it is a new and fresh and slightly challenging one, and I think past history (Miho, Maud) has shown how much of a sucker I can be for that. Have a journal (although my number one pick for it was taken, but I like the one I have), app is assembling itself in my head, so that's probably that, I know myself.
