He's got a broken voice and a twisted smile [Guess he's been that way for quite a while]

[Damage]

They’re both incredibly damaged and he thinks that’s probably why the whole relationship works. He’s not sure what Dr. Phil would have to say about building a relationship upon damage but he knows it works. He smiles more when she’s around and she swears that she smiles more too. He still doesn’t smile the way he used to and sometimes his laugh still surprises him. He’s healed but there are scars and he’s still so broken but she doesn’t seem to mind. She’s been moved around and told to hide so much, lost so many that he knows she’s still surprised every time he walks through the door. A selfish part of him is entirely grateful for that. He’s aware that if she weren’t broken, eventually she’d get tired of trying to fix him. And the simple truth is the only way to fix Sam went to Hell four years ago. He knows he should probably pray that she heals. He should probably wish that she were whole but he doesn’t. In fact sometimes when all he wants to do is get back home and feel her curl up next to him, he prays that she never gets better. He wishes that she’ll always stay broken.
