This is definitely a powerful chapter!
Brett Stiles being Red John was a theory I couldn't quite believe prior to reading this story, and yet you make it all absolutely likely. In a way Stiles would be the perfect candidate to be a serial killer, and I like the fact that you've cast Ron as another of his moles, along with Douglas.
I can't help feeling sorry for poor Ron when he gets killed, especially since he mentiones his family. And then you left us with a nasty cliffhanger about Lisbon at the end of the chapter...
