[chaos has been doing much like Diana is, scavenging, at least when he's not doing other things like checking on others. When he sees her, he stops a moment, debating.]

[Considering the situation, he has to be cautious as some people may not take kindly to someone else approaching as they scavenge. After all, the situation is likely to cause flight or fight in many. Despite that, however, he does finally move over nearer to her and speak]

If you're going to be digging, you should see about finding something to cover your hands. You don't want to cut them if you can help it.

[ Diana immediately tenses up at the sound of someone talking. She takes a moment to try to calm herself down as chaos doesn't seem to be threatening, but her stance is rigid. ]

Tell me something I don't know.

[ She's grumpy, irritated, and just is not in a friendly mood at all. ]

[He seems undisturbed by her stance changing, and instead provides a faint smile, holding his hands up a little; it seems he's managed to partly wrap them in what seems to be part of a bed sheet.]

Do you want me to help you find something, since I have some covering?

[ She's still trying to protect herself, but she notices what his hands are wrapped in. It's not a pair of gloves, but it'll work.

All she does is nod in response to his question. ]

[chaos nods a little, and moves to start shifting some of the rubble carefully, making sure he's within her eyesight as he does, although it's likely his next words will startle her.]

[ It doesn't do much to reaffirm her that everything's going to be okay because it won't be. And she knows that.

Though, there's surprise in her eyes. ]

[A small nod from chaos confirms her question]

Strange way to meet it seems, but I am glad to see you do not seem to be injured.

Shaken up, but not injured.

[ At least not physically, anyway. Mentally and emotionally are another story. ]

[He won't know anything about her mental injuries, and yet he is also not unaware that what's going on will probably impact people drastically, so he says nothing other than that.]

Indeed.

[ But, she doesn't seem to believe in her own words right now. "Shaken up" to her is just realizing one of her steps in something was wrong. This was full on mental scarring - something she's not sure she'll recover from any time soon.

But, she does seem to crouch down by chaos and look at what he's up to. ]

[He just offers her the gentlest of smiles, and seems to be clearing aside any rocks and checking anything that isn't that or glass as he goes through. It isn't likely he finds much, scraps of paper or melted glass perhaps is all.]

By the way, was anyone else at your home? Are they alright?

[ That question makes her swallow uncomfortably. Mokou, Nall, N... Did they survive it? She didn't know.

So, she merely shakes her head. ]

[He notices the discomfort and stops for a moment, looking at her.]

Did you not see them when you woke up, or...?

[ She nods, her eyes shifted downward. She had spent a lot of time in trying to get to know them, so... of course the uncertainty makes her leery. ]

If you didn't see them, they're probably alright. I imagine, with the phones down, a lot of people are checking on their friends right now. So, don't worry alright?
