Tom is just awake now and still a little woozy from the drug. He would have gotten out of bed sooner, but it's taking him a while to figure out how to do it without causing unnecessary pain. He is also using this opportunity to look around Richard's room. Like all things different, it is fascinating to him and he probably does not count on being

Richard had paced about the Mansion absently for awhile, distracted by anger over what had been done to Tom. No matter what the man had done or not done, he had smelled the wine on his clothes in addition to his wounds. Whoever had hurt him had left him there in pain, and was clearly no gentleman.

After a substantial time, he decided to go check on Tom. Carefully, he poked his head into his room, in case Tom was still asleep.

...of course, Tom wasn't even in bed anymore.

Tom currently in the process of opening a drawer one handedly. It was empty and he let out a little sigh of annoyance. He didn't even notice Richard coming in.

Richard smiled in relief, though he was still a little worried.

"Weren't you supposed to still be in bed, sir?" he asked, half-amused.

T: My internet's being temperamental, so I may or may not disappear. O.o

Tom turned around with a little sheepish grin. "Oh. I became bored."

"How are you feeling?" Richard stepped into the room.

"Better..."

[jarndyceheir]

"Well, I'm afraid that isn't saying terribly much. You shouldn't push yourself too hard so soon, you know."

"I'm not going to break."

Richard half smiled. "You've already done that, I believe."

Tom frowned. "I am going to be fine."

"Of course you are." Quieter, "I did promise to look out for you, didn't I?"

"Yes. Thank you...for everything."

[jarndyceheir]

"Of course." Richard paused, just a touch awkward. "I hope I didn't take any liberties. But..." He unconsciously rubbed his thumb with his forefinger.

"No. No you didn't." A pause. "But what?"

He smiled apologetically. "I am afraid you weren't in much condition to make a choice about the matter, at the time."

"I suppose I wasn't." Tom's ribs started hurting again and he went and sat down on the bed. He muttered something under his breath that sounded vaguely like, "I'm going to kill him."
