Yeah, so that nightmare curse was pretty bad. I wasn't affected, but Konata was and she hasn't been feeling that great. A lot of kids have been absent from school the past couple days, too, so it's not really just business as usual. I hope everyone gets better over the weekend ( Read more... )

Interesting, that you can separate things into curse and normal like that. On the other hand, the curse itself disrupts normal life.

And today's another curse.

Yeah, but it's one thing when it's just the curse by itself, you know? I dunno, I guess I'm kinda just ranting.

Really? Wow, I guess that's what I get for not checking the network all day.

Curse days by themselves are somehow excepted for you, then?

That will do it.

I guess so. My life's pretty boring, otherwise, so it's kind of easy to separate out the days where I'm a dog or whatever. You don't see it that way?

Most of the time you can just get by on just what you can observe in real life, but not today I guess.

I don't think there's such a clear separation.

That's true in the City less often than I'd like to admit.

Why not?

Yeah, but usually you don't go all day before you realize your roommates are gone, at least.

Previous curses influence us all the time, whether we're in a "normal" day or not. It's not as though the days in which there is no curse are like the days we might spend at home.

Granted.

No, because we're not at home. It'd be different even if there weren't curses at all, but at least on the days in between them we can still get things done - go to work or school, whatever passes as normal for us here. You don't spend every minute recovering from the last curse.

You don't need to be to the point of needing to recover from a curse to be altered by it. That last was more severe than most, yes, but if you look at the network on any given day after a curse you'll note any number of people complaining about the previous day, even though they're no longer affected by it. Days between curses become something of a break rather than the norm.

I think we're looking at the same thing but seeing it in different ways.
