Way to be judgemental, City. It's reassuring to know, at least, that probably everyone who was affected yesterday got marked, no matter how petty whatever they did was. Maybe the lesson there was that we shouldn't judge others because we've all done something we shouldn't ( Read more... )

If someone thinks a curse has meaning, doesn't that give it meaning? Even if it doesn't really have any to start with.

Maybe, but that's not really what I mean. I'm thinking more that people say things happen for a reason because we as humans have a psychological need for there to be a reason. It can mean something to us all we want, but that doesn't mean that the powers that be were out to teach us a lesson.

It's easy to think that when the deities say it, though.

It's not like they couldn't stop anyone from attacking them. With the lasers and all.

Why does everyone make such a big deal of the lasers? Just get a mirror and you're fine.

A mirror? Would that work?

It should. I think the thing that shoots the lasers probably has mirrors inside it to direct the beam. And it's just light. So you'd need an industrial-strength mirror or some kind of protection to keep from burning yourself if it got hot. But, yeah, you should theoretically be able to deflect the beam and aim it back at them or whatever.

I'm surprised no one has said anything about that.
