I FINALLY GOT TO GO TO WARPED TOUR!!
After all these years, it finally happened! Was it worth the wait? HELL, YES!! I seriously think it's amazing to see that many bands in one day for only 25 bucks! Somehow, too, I didn't miss anyone I wanted to see. . . No, I lie. I missed Brand New, but I'll get another chance to see them, right? SAY RIGHT!!!
Let's see. . . Who did I see?
Andrew W.K.--I never liked him until I saw him live. He's such a NICE guy and has so much fun!
All American Rejects--Okay, so we only went to say hi to them at their tent. Didn't see
them play.
The Ataris--Great show! They sounded wonderful! I did feel old, though, when some
kid referred to The Boys of Summer as the Ataris' "new" song. . .
Atmosphere--I know I saw them, but I don't remember much.
Big D and the Kid's Table--Good band!!
Bowling For Soup--They're just great showmen! Funny, funny!
From Autumn to Ashes--They sounded great!!
Glassjaw--Where does that guy get his energy? A Red Bull IV?
The Know How--I love them!
Less Than Jake--One of the best all day!! I was so excited to see them! They attempted
the biggest circle pit in history. . . they may have won. lol
Mad Caddies--They rocked, but they played too early! Drinking for 11 live kicks ass!!!
Matchbook Romance--I like these guys!
Mest--FINALLY got to see them! They put on a great show.
One Man Army--One of the first bands to play. They were good.
Poison the Well--Dug their set.
Rancid--EVERY kid there came to see Rancid! You couldn't even get near them!
Simple Plan--Wasn't really into this. They were playing; I was standing there.
The Starting Line--I dig them. They were fun.
Suicide Machines--Kind of saw them in passing. They sounded good, though.
Thrice--Okay, so I only HEARD them; we were watching Yellowcard at the time.
Tsunami Bomb--I really HATE them, but I have to admit, they didn't sound too bad.
Vendetta Red--I LOVE THEM! He sounds like a dying cat, but it's a GOOD dying cat. I
stood in line for the bathroom through their whole set. . . good thing the
bathrooms were next to their stage.
Yellow Card--one of the day's BIGGEST HIGHLIGHTS!!! They're local boys to Jacksonville, so they
OWNED! You know, they would've owned, anyway. They sounded incredible!
By the time night got close, we were DEAD! Yes, we left early. We missed AFI, The Used, and Dropkick Murphys. Of all of them, I'm most disappointed by not seeing Dropkick, but I'll live.
I WILL go again next year! In fact, I may go to two or three dates. The only problem was that I spent soooo much money on merch! I did get an inflatable firecracker from the Less Than Jake tent, though. . . lol I bought more comp CD's from hot guys under trees than I care to count! Hey, they were only five bucks or one buck, so why not? I swear, they get the hottest guys they can to do that so that I can't tell them no! lol.
Oh, advice if you go to Warped. GET THERE EARLY AND SUFFER THROUGH THE SITTING AROUND BEFOREHAND! Otherwise, you won't get in for an hour or so and you'll miss someone. Sucks, but we were there at 8 AM!!! That was early enough, and actually, it was fun to sit around with all the rest of the kids waiting to get in. It wasn't like we had to be quiet or anything. It was hot as hell, though! We bought a lot of stuff sitting there, too, but it was all very cheap stuff. lol. We also ran into the guys from Over It again. They weren't playing; they were just there doing merch stuff. Anyway, there's your Warped Tour tip. GET THERE EARLY!!! lol
